The Oakton 35608-55 is a conductivity/Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) electrode, with cell constant of K=0.1 for low-range conductivity measurements. The electrode, also known as a probe, measures the conductivity and TDS of a solution, and is commonly used in testing water, such as pure and sea water, in field and laboratory applications. This probe features platinum sensors for specific use, epoxy-body housing for impact-resistance, and durability, and to reduce air bubble entrapment. It comes with a removable, plastic probe guard to preserve the electrode.

The 35608-55 electrode has a temperature range of 0 to 80 degrees C (32 to 176 degrees F), and is used for low-range conductivity measurements. Its dimensions are 100 (l) x 12 (d) mm. It is intended for use with the Oakton CON 400, and meters that have 5-pin Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN)-connections (sold separately). It comes with a 3-foot cable.

An electrode is used with a meter to measure the parameters of a substance. Conductivity is the ability of a solution or material to conduct an electrical current. TDS measurement indicates materials such as salts, bases or minerals, which contribute to electrical conductivity, within a solution.

Oakton Instruments manufactures an array of scientific instruments for research, industrial, and educational uses. Since 1991, Oakton has distributed a wide variety of instruments such as meters, electrodes, and transmitters. Oakton is based in Vernon Hills, IL, and has facilities in Europe, Asia, and China.
