Mitutoyo 7237CAL Dial Depth Gauge with Calibration, Inch, Back Plunger Type, 0.2" Stroke, 2.5" x 0.63" Base, 0-8" Range, 0.001" Graduation, +/-0.002" Accuracy
The calibrated Mitutoyo 7237CAL dial depth gauge is for measuring the depth of holes or other depressions. This gauge has a measurement range of 0 to 8.0", graduations of 0.001", and an accuracy of + or - 0.002". The dial indicator is a back plunger type for reading from above with a white face for precise and readable measurements in inches. This item comes with a carbide-tipped ball contact point and four extension rods (0.5", 1", 2", and 4") for flexibility in measuring range. The base of this model is 4 x 0.63 inches (W x D) for stability. (W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) Mitutoyo calibrated tools include a Certificate of Calibration that provides evidence that the tool has been calibrated and is within allowable error specifications. Mitutoyo calibrated tools are certified by Mitutoyo's American Association for Laboratory Accreditation-accredited calibration laboratory (A2LA Certificate #750-01) to the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025 International Standard for testing and calibration laboratories. This gauge has a measuring force of 1.4 Newtons (N) or less.
W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display. Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL. What's in the Box?
