Recommended for schools and hobbyists, the Dino-Lite AM3113 digital microscope includes measuring software and is packaged here with the popular MS33W gooseneck stand. The AM3113 is the sister model of the AM3111 but with measuring software. It includes 10x-50x, 230x variable magnification and 8 bright white LED lights with On/Off switch. Resolution is 640x480 pixel with accurate color and sophisticated but simple to use included software for both PC and Mac. The microscope housing is tough ABS plastic with high speed USB 2.0 output. Take stills, live video or even time lapse video. The MS33W is a popular metal articulating stand with 127mm diameter solid metal base, 30cm flexible gooseneck and included microscope holster. It also offers 10mm of fine vertical adjustment from a threaded rotating base collar. Dino-Lite includes software for both PC (DinoCapture 2.0) and Mac (DinoXcope) computers. PC software is compatible through Windows 7 and Mac through OSX 10.5 and later. We have found the software to be robust and reliable with some great features as follows: image capture, storage and email, live and time lapse video (up to 30fps), annotation, geotagging, full screen capability, auto and manual exposure control, picture within picture zoom (magnifier) and more. Measuring software is versatile and includes a calibration slide for accuracy. Measuring capabilities include linear and geometric as well as circular and point-to-line. Above all the color resolution is excellent due to fixed white-balance calibration which is set at the factory using a jeweler's color balance.
