The Fluke FLK-Ti9 portable thermal imager with an uncooled microbolometer sensor and a 160 x 120 focal plane array (FPA) captures infrared images of thermal patterns, and is commonly used in industrial and commercial applications, including process monitoring and maintenance of utilities, electrical, and mechanical systems. This thermal imager detects temperatures from -20 to +250 degrees C (-4 to +482 degrees F), with an accuracy of + or - 5 degrees C or 5%, and a thermal sensitivity of less than or equal to 0.2 degrees C (200 milliKelvins) at 30 degrees C. It has one-handed manual controls for image focusing, capturing, saving, and reviewing for ease of handling. The 3.7-inch color LCD screen provides clear images for ease of viewing and analysis, and backlighting helps eliminate light reflections and improves contrast in low-light conditions. It enters sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity and turns off after 30 minutes of inactivity to help preserve battery life. The thermal imager resists impact from drops up to 2 meters, and it is Ingress Protection certified IP54 for protection against dust and splashing liquid. The European Conformity (CE) marking indicates compliance with applicable European Union (EU) directives. It comes with an AC power adapter, a hard-sided carrying case, a soft carrying case, an adjustable hand strap, an SD memory card, a USB SD card reader, SmartView reporting and analysis software on CD, and instructions. This thermal imager is suitable for use in industrial and commercial process monitoring and maintenance.

Thermal imagers, also known as thermal cameras, infrared imagers, or infrared cameras, capture images of heat patterns for examination and analysis. Objects emit infrared light, and this light radiates heat in varying temperatures. A sensor within a thermal imager detects radiant heat and transforms it into patterns on a thermal imaging system. Thermal imagers have LCD screens to display an image of the object in a range of color that corresponds with variations in temperature. Technicians can transfer images and video to a computer for process monitoring and analysis. Some thermal imagers can show visual images along with thermal images to make an object more identifiable. Thermal imagers are used in an array of industries, including construction and building maintenance, manufacturing, firefighting, medicine, law enforcement, and military among others. A wide range of applications include building diagnostics to identify hidden moisture or heat leaks, industrial and commercial maintenance to prevent or identify electrical or mechanical equipment failure, thermal cameras that restore visibility in fire control, medical and veterinary diagnostic imaging to identify health conditions, and surveillance cameras for law enforcement and facility security.

Fluke Corporation manufactures electrical testing tools and software for industrial and commercial applications. The company, founded in 1948, is headquartered in Everett, WA.
