The Mitutoyo Series 7200 Dial Depth Gauges, Indicator Type, Inch, have a measurement range of 0 to 8", a stroke (or travel distance of the indicator) of either 0.2" or 1", a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.001", with + or – 0.002" of accuracy. The dial gauge interface provides precise and easily readable measurements. Models 7237 and 7238 have a back plunger type dial indicator to enable upward facing readings. The units all contain four extension measuring rods for flexibility in range. The bases of the units are either 2.5" or 4" long, depending on the model. The bottom of the bases are hardened, ground, and lapped for durability and accuracy. The ball point used for measuring is carbide-tipped for durability and accuracy. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering.
