Hanna Instruments HI1270 Spare General Purpose pH Electrode with Screw Cap Connection, 0 to 13 pH Range

The Hanna Instruments HI 1270 is a pH electrode with a cloth junction, a polypropylene plastic body, a small diameter, and a screw cap connector for use with the HI 98103 pH tester. A pH electrode is commonly attached to a pH meter to measure the pH of a substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial, and food applications. The cloth junction of this electrode reduces contamination. The 80mm high polypropylene plastic body with 3mm spherical tip is for general purpose and field applications and the small outside diameter (8mm) means the probe fits in test tubes. The electrode has a screw cap connector for a tight connection with the meter.

An electrode, also called a sensor or probe, is an instrument used with a meter to test and measure parameters of a substance. All electrodes are probes or sensors, but not all probes are electrodes or sensors. Probes, such as temperature probes, are used to penetrate a material for measurement. Electrodes are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists in a wide variety of industries, such as aquaculture, agriculture, chemistry, food and beverage, wine-making and water-testing, and for scientific applications. An electrode can be used with a datalogger to assist in temperature measurement.
