A fully stabilized cast iron frame forms the base of the 'U' type adjustable limit snap gage. The one piece, knife edge, rectangular anvil and the two knife edge, adjustable anvils are all manufactured from hardened, lapped, tool steel. The blades of the type 'U' make its primary use that of gauging the lower diameter of external grooves. Having only two adjustable anvils, the Go/No Go setting procedure is quick and straightforward. The blades are supplied with a standard thickness and depth, both of which can be modified by YPG to meet specific customer application requirements. Radius and chamfer changes can also be modified on request. In addition the 'U' type is very readily used as a more robust replacement for the "Reef" type gage.
