The Amprobe IR-450 pocket infrared thermometer is an infrared thermometer for measuring temperature from a distance for use in HVAC/R, fire safety and protection, industrial maintenance, and auto maintenance. The thermometer has a distance-to-spot ratio (D:S) of 8:1 and measures temperature from -30 to 500 degrees C (-22 to 932 degrees F). The unit has an LCD that displays the temperature and degrees C or F. It is safety rated to European Standards (EN) 61010-1 and 60825-1. The thermometer is powered by one AAA battery, which powers the unit for up to 100 hours of tests. The IR-450 is designed for use by auto mechanics, industrial mechanics, fire safety and protection technicians, and HVAC maintenance workers. Available in handheld or benchtop models, they detect electrical problems in equipment, wiring, and power supplies. A variety of probes, clamps, or leads connect the meter to a circuit or device. Single-function meters, such as battery testers and voltage testers, measure one property of a circuit; multimeters measure multiple properties. Electrical test meters display information either in analog form using a needle that moves on a calibrated scale, or in digital form using digits or a graphic representation on an LED screen. Meter choice includes the electrical properties to be measured and the anticipated range of results, and should have a rati...
