The Mahr EGH-1021 small bore probe is intended for use with the Mahr Pocket Surf series portable surface roughness gauge (sold separately) for inside-bore testing applications with a minimum inside diameter (ID) of 3.2mm (0.125") and a maximum depth of 19mm (0.75"). The probe's 90-degree conical diamond stylus has a 10μm (0.0004") radius, which is suitable for use when measuring rough surfaces. It measures average roughness (Ra), mean depth (Rz), and maximum depth (Rmax) parameters, and meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 4287 and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B46.1 specifications. This small bore probe is suitable for applications such as evaluating a machined inner-bore surface.A surface roughness tester, also known as a profilometer, surtest, roughness gage, surface finish gage, or surf roughness tester, is a device used to inspect and measure surface roughness of flats, rounds, sloping planes, and recesses in machined, ground, or polished metal and non-metal surfaces. A roughness tester traces a surface profile using a skid-type (contact-type) method with a tracer tip such as a diamond stylus and piezo-electric detection to calculate roughness. Common types of parameters include Ra (roughness average), Rv (maximum profile valley depth), and Rsk (skewness), and assessed profiles. Profiles can have valuations such as cutoff, sampling, traversing, and evaluation-types of lengths. A surface roughness tester can have analog or digital display. The Hioki 3286-20 digital clamp-meter with PC communication package is a true RMS sensing, manual- and auto-ranging multimeter for measuring current, voltage, frequency, and power in electrical testing applications. It has a clamp that measures AC (alternating current) to 1,000A (amperes). The clamp has two jaws that can close around an electrical conductor up to 55mm (2.17 inches) in diameter or a busbar up to 80 x 20mm to measure current without touching or interrupting the circuit. A voltage cord with alligator clips is included for measuring AC voltage to 600V, frequency to 1,000Hz (hertz), single-phase power to 600kW (kilowatts), and three-phase power to 1,200kW. Frequency can also be measured with the clamp. The meter includes the RS-232C communication package with software and an interface for connecting the meter to a PC for data recording and analysis. The software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98 and Windows 2000. For power monitoring and analysis, the meter detects phase rotation, measures total harmonic distortion (THD) which can degrade the quality of the power being supplied by the system, analyzes individual harmonics to the 20th order, and calculates power factor up to 1.00 to determine how efficiently an installation uses power.The meter has push buttons to select the property to measure, and a 6,000-count LCD. To enable readings of rapidly fluctuating current and voltage, the slow function reduces the display update rate from four times per second to once every three seconds. The record function captures the maximum, minimum, and average readings for a property. To aid documentation of readings and capture readings in tight spaces, the data hold function keeps the most recent reading on the display after disconnecting from the circuit. The unit operates on a single 9V battery, and turns off automatically after 10 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life.
