The Laxco DSM-Micro cell-density meter has a 600nm wavelength single-beam LED light source to test for and measure yeast, E. coli, and bacterial cultures. The meter accepts 20&956;L micro-volume sample tubes. The meter measures McFarland units, % transmission, and absorption in either single-measurement or time-lapse mode. Time-lapse testing enables users to take readings at specified time intervals, and graphing allows data points to be displayed in a graphical format. The 3.5" LCD is backlit to ease reading, and has a 240 x 160 pixel resolution for displaying charts and graphs. Capacitive-touch buttons ease cleaning and prevent liquids from entering the device. The meter stores up to 2,000 data points that can be displayed in graph or chart format directly on the LCD. A USB 2.0 port allows the data to be exported to a PC for analysis or long-term records retention. The meter uses a 110VAC power source or can be operated using an internal rechargeable battery that enables the meter to be used away from power sources, including inside incubation cabinets, fume hoods, or under anaerobic conditions. A spectrophotometer is a device used to measure and analyze aspects of light absorption in liquids and solids. Readings are displayed in digital or analog format. A spectrophotometer can have a handheld body for field use, or a bench-top body for laboratory applications. It may have one or more adapters to enable it to measure surfaces or liquids. A spectrophotometer is used for testing and measuring in anatomy, chemistry, agriculture, process plant, food and beverage making, homeland sec...
