HI 87314 is a combination, portable meter that can read conductivity in four different ranges and resistivity. For conductivity measurements, a one-point calibration is performed via a trimmer located in the battery compartment. The supplied probe does not require recalibration when switching from one range to another. The four-ring (stainless steel) probe has a built-in temperature sensor that automatically compensates for temperature changes. The temperature coefficient can be adjusted from 0 to 2.5 percent using a knob on the front panel. For resistivity measurements, the meter is factory calibrated and, if necessary, calibration can be adjusted. The HI 3316D resistivity probe is easy to clean and requires little maintenance. It also features a built-in temperature sensor to automatically compensate for temperature variations. The temperature coefficient is user-selectable from 2 to 7 percent . Range: EC: 199.9 microsecond per centimeter; 1999 microsecond per centimeter; 19.99 microsecond per centimeter; 199.9 microsecond per centimeter. Resistivity: 0 to 19.90 MO cm. Universal Millimeter Scales Ideal for flow measurements in the lab, in pilot plants, chromatography, and in manufacturing processes, these heavy-walled, shock-resistant flowmeters feature borosilicate glass construction. The height to which the float rises within the metering tube is correlated with specific flow rates on the Mm scales, through the use of appropriate calibration data sheets or curves. Flow measurements are taken by reading the center of the float on the Universal Scale. These units offer a minimum 10:1 useful flow range with one float; better than 20:1 useful flow range with two floats. Unmounted tubes have plain ends; guarded tubes are sheathed in a plastic housing. Panel/bench mounted flowmeters available with PTFE or aluminum valves. Scales of this type permit utilization of a given flowmeter for a diverse range of different fluids at diverse pressure and temperature conditions. Riteflow Guarded Flowtubes: Especially when used under high pressure, guarded tubes reduce risk and offer a greater margin of safety and protection against shattering flowtubes. The flowtube is shrouded in a plastic cylindrical guard which has two end bushings, (1/4) NPT fittings and an O.D. of 25mm (1). The Thomas XXX80B1539 Oswald viscometer has a 60 to 100 second test-time range at room temperature and is suitable for the measurement of dynamic viscosity of a transparent Newtonian fluid such as oil. It is made of borosilicate glass for clarity and uses a minimum sample size of 5mL. A vacuum (not included) is used to draw a sample up for timed testing between two sets of printed marks. A viscometer, also called a viscosimeter, is an instrument used to measure the friction caused by the relative motion of a Newtonian fluid and a known surface, and is usually expressed in units of poise (P), centipoise (cP), pascal seconds (Pa s), and millipascal seconds (mPa s). Viscometers have several forms, including but not limited to falling ball, rotational, vibrating, capillary, funnel, and bubble. A falling ball viscometer measures the time it takes for a ball of known diameter and density to fall through fluid in a cylinder of known diameter.
