The Hanna Instruments HI 1290 is a pH electrode for the HI 98112 Piccolo 2 tester with a single ceramic junction, Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), a polypropylene plastic body, an internal amplifier, and a multipin connector. A pH electrode is commonly attached to a pH meter to measure the pH of a substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial, and food applications. An internal thermometer sensor in this electrode provides ATC for accurate readings in fluctuating temperatures. The single ceramic junction has a flow rate of 15 to 20 microliters per hour and provides long electrode life in harsh environments. The polypropylene plastic body with 5.0mm spherical tip is for general purpose and field applications. An internal amplifier provides a strong low impedance signal from the electrode to the tester, and the multipin connector provides a tight connection. All electrodes are probes or sensors, but not all probes are electrodes or sensors. Probes, such as temperature probes, are used to penetrate a material for measurement. Common electrode types are pH, total dissolved solid (TDS), and ion selective electrode (ISE). Electrodes can be half-cell or full-cell (also called combination) types. They can be refillable or non-refillable. Housing material is typically glass or epoxy, and sensors are commonly made with stainless steel or a glass bulb. pH electrodes, which measure the pH of a substance, often have a glass bulb. The bulb senses hydrogen ions, and generates a millivoltage that is picked up by the filling solution and transferred to a wire that connects to the pH meter. Ion selective electrodes (ISEs) respond selectively to ions in the presence of other ions. Electrodes are commonly used by researchers, manu...

The Hydrometer is an instrument which is constructed on the Archimedes principle that a solid body displaces its own weight of the liquid in which it floats. Hydrometers can be divided into two general classes; namely for liquids heavier than water and for liquids lighter than water. The base hydrometer scale is Specific Gravity, in which distilled water equals 1.000 as the initial point. Liquids lighter than water are scaled below 1.000 specific gravity and liquids heavier than water are scaled above 1.000 specific gravity. Hydrometers are usually calibrated at 60°F/60°F. To determine the density of a liquid, the liquid should be at 60°F. If the temperature varies, the liquid will either contract or expand, depending upon the temperature. Where there is a variation from the standard 60°F, corrections must be applied to the hydrometer reading. To assure proper corrections, a separate accurate thermometer should be used, or a hydrometer in combination with a thermometer, which is sometimes referred to as a "thermohydrometer." Internal Revenue Size H Alcohol Hydrometer. 40-60% Proof Range, 0.2% Subdivision, ±0.4% Tolerance, 305mm Length
