The Oakton WD-35606-57 Ultem Conductivity/TDS Cell is an electrode, or probe, that measures the electrical conductivity (EC) and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of a solution. The probe features a built-in sensor for ATC. It has Ultem-PEI body housing and stainless steel rings for chemical resistance. The probe has a BNC connector, with snap-lock architecture, to provide tight coaxial cable connection and stability. The electrode provides fast temperature response and air entrapment reduction, for more accurate, stable readings. It has a cell constant (K) =10.0, which is suitable for high conductivity measurements. The probe features a 10-foot cable, three-band platinum sensor, and probe style C and is for use in a temperature range of 0 to 80 degrees C. The electrode has a removable, plastic probe guard and is intended for use with the Oakton CON 6, TDS 6, and SALT 6 (sold separately). Conductivity probes are used for measuring the electro-conductivity of a solution. TDS measurement indicates materials such as salts, bases or minerals, which contribute to electrical conductivity within a solution. These measurements are commonly used in hydroponics, aquaculture, agriculture, and to measure the amount of salts or other compounds present in water. Oakton Instruments manufactures an array of scientific instruments for research, industrial, and educational uses. Since 1991, Oakton has distributed a wide variety of instruments such as meters, electrodes, and transmitters. Oakton is based in Vernon Hills, IL, and has facilities in Europe, Asia, and China.
