The Thermo Scientific Orion STAR A223 Dissolved Oxygen Portable Meter is a dissolved oxygen (DO) meter for testing samples anywhere, with automatic temperature, manual salinity, and automatic or manual barometric pressure compensation. The meter is calibrated using water-saturated air, air-saturated water, Winkler titration, or zero point calibration. The backlit graphic LCD screen displays DO, temperature, time, date, sample ID, user ID, and calibration information, with prompts in a selectable language of English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, or Chinese. The ready indicator shows when readings are stable. The meter takes a polarographic probe or rugged dissolved oxygen (RDO) optical, luminescence-based probe (probes sold separately). The memory holds up to 1000 data points with time and date stamp, and measurements can be taken at set intervals. USB and RS232 ports enable data transfer. The meter runs on four AA batteries (included) or on AC power via the universal power adapter (sold separately). The meter housing is waterproof, with Ingress Protection 67 (IP67). Additional certifications include European Conformity (CE), Technical Inspection Association (TÜV), and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Class A limits. DO meters are commonly used in water-quality testing applications.SpecificationsDO concentration rangePolarographic: 0 to 90mg/L; RDO optical: 0 to 50mg/LDO concentration resolution0.01, 0.1DO concentration relative accuracyPolarographic: + or - 0.2mg/L; RDO optical: + or - 0.1mg/L up to 8mg/L, + or - 0.2mg/L up to 20mg/L, 10% of reading beyondDO % saturation rangePolarographic: 0 to 600; RDO optical: 0 to 500DO % saturation resolution0.1, 1DO % saturation relative accuracy+ or - 2%Temperature range-5 to 105° C, 23 to 221° FTemperature resolution0.1Temperature relative accuracy+ or - 0.1Salinity factor0 to 45ppt, manual Dissolved oxygen (DO) meters measure the amount of dissolved oxygen present in water.
