The Hanna Instruments HI 981404N-01 is a continuous measurement meter for pH and total dissolved solids (TDS) with manual calibration, two LCD screens, an interchangeable gel-filled pH electrode with Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector and waterproof sleeve, a fixed TDS probe, a grounding bar, and a housing for wall mounting. A pH meter is commonly used to measure the pH of a substance. A TDS meter measures substance conductivity through presence of dissolved solids such as salts and minerals. TDS readings are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists in aquaculture, agriculture, hydroponics, and water-testing, and for scientific applications. The two single-line LCD screens of this meter continually show the pH and TDS values. Front trimmers allow manual pH calibration at one or two points and TDS calibration at one point. The meter has a flat back for wall mounting. The gel-filled pH electrode is replaceable and the BNC connector is protected with a waterproof sleeve. The electrode resists clogging in fertilizer solutions with high concentrations of nutrient, such as phosphate and nitrate. A grounding bar with a 2m (6.6') cable ensures accurate pH readings and prolongs electrode life. The power supply is 115VAC. The meter also comes with calibration solutions, a calibration screwdriver, 12VDC adapter, and instructions. The nominal working volume of these cells is as little as 20 percent of that for standard cells of the same path length. Required volume of the Semi-Micro cells of 0.9 mL can be reduced by elevating the cell so long as the light beam does not strike the walls of the cell. If beam width of spectrophotometer approaches 4 mm, a suitable self-masking cell should be used.

The Hanna Instruments HI 1005 is a flow-through monitoring pH electrode for industrial applications with a double polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) junction, a nontoxic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) body with polyetherimide (PEI) protective sleeve, a 1/2" National Pipe Thread Tapered Thread (NPT) external thread for in-line installation, a 3m (9.8') cable, a Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) connector, and operates in pressurized systems. A pH electrode is commonly attached to a pH meter to measure the pH of a substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial, and food applications. This electrode has a double PTFE junction which reduces sample solution ingress into the reference compartment for longer electrode life. The polymer reference combined with the annular PTFE junction minimizes clogging. The PVDF body is nontoxic and compatible with food. The PEI protective sleeve provides resistance against mechanical stress. A 1/2" NPT external thread allows in-line installation, and the electrode operates in pressurized systems up to 87 psi (6 bar). A DIN connector provides tight cable connections. The electrode comes with a 3m (9.8') cable.SpecificationsJunctionDouble PTFEBody materialPVDF and PEIElectrolytePolymerOperating temperature-5 to 80 degrees C (23 to 176 degrees F)Maximum pressure6 bar (87 psi)ConnectionBNCCable3m (9.8')An electrode, also called a sensor or probe, is an instrument used with a meter to test and measure parameters of a substance. All electrodes are probes or sensors, but not all probes are electrodes or sensors. Probes, such as temperature probes, are used to penetrate a material for measurement. Common electrode types are pH, total dissolved solid (TDS), and ion selective electrode (ISE). Electrodes can be half-cell or full-cell (also called combination) types. They can be refillable or non-refillable. Housing material is typically glass or epoxy, and sensors are commonly made with stainless steel or a glass bulb. pH electrodes, which measure the pH of a substance, often ...

The Cannon AIVC-400 vacuum-calibrated graduated capillary-style viscometer has a 9,600 to 140,000 poise (P) viscosity measuring range and is suitable for the measurement of highly viscous materials such as asphalt at 140 degrees F. The AIVC-series size 400 viscometer uses a 180mm depth water bath (not included) for temperature-control testing, and a vacuum (not included) to draw a sample up for timed testing between two sets of printed marks. This vacuum-calibrated viscometer meets the ASTM International D2171 standard for testing asphalt viscosity. A viscometer, also called a viscosimeter, is an instrument used to measure the friction caused by the relative motion of a Newtonian fluid and a known surface, and is usually expressed in units of poise (P), centipoise (cP), pascal seconds (Pa s), and millipascal seconds (mPa s). Viscometers have several forms, including but not limited to falling ball, rotational, vibrating, capillary, funnel, and bubble. A falling ball viscometer measures the time it takes for a ball of known diameter and density to fall through fluid in a cylinder of known diameter. A rotational viscometer measures the force required to stir a fluid. A vibrating viscometer measures the power input necessary to keep the oscillator vibrating at constant amplitude while immersed in a fluid. A capillary viscometer has a narrow-bore vertical section with two printed marks that measure time required for a known volume of fluid to fall a known distance. A funnel viscometer, such as a Ford, Zahn, or Shell cup, measures the time it takes a known volume of fluid to flow from the base of a cone through a short tube. A bubble viscometer measures the time required for an air bubble to rise through a fluid. Viscosity measurements are used in laboratories, research and development, process control, and plant quality control applications. Some viscometers are manufactured to meet industry or governmental standards, including Ingress Protection (IP), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Internati...
