The Hanna Instruments HI 88703-01 is a turbidity meter designed to meet EPA reporting requirements. The meter has two, three, four, or five-point calibration, can log up to 200 samples, and has automatic range selection. It operates using a 230 V/50 Hz or 115 V/60 Hz 20 W power supply and automatically shuts off after 15 minutes of non-use. The meter has a USB interface, a silicon photocell light source, and a backlit LCD screen to reduce glare. Calibration is traceable, allowing the user to check the last date, time, and points calibrated. The meter uses the Nephelometric method (90 degrees) or Ratio Nephelometric Method (90 degrees and 180 degrees), and an adaptation of the USEPA Method 108.1 and Standard Method 2130 B. Turbidity ranges are 0.00 to 9.99; 10.0 to 99.9; 100 to 4000 NTU 0.0 to 99.9; 100 to 26800 Nephelos, 0.00 to 9.99; 10.0 to 99.9; 100 to 980 EBC, with resolution 0.01; 0.1; 1 NTU, 0.1; 1 Nephelos, 0.01; 0.1, and 1 EBC when ratiometric measurements are used. Ranges are 0.00 to 9.99; 10.0 to 40.0 NTU, 0.0 to 99.9; 100 to 268 Nephelos, 0.00 to 9.80 EBC, with resolutions 0.01; 0.1 NTU, 0.1; 1 Nephelos, 0.01 EBC when non-ratio method is used. Accuracy is + or - 2% of reading plus 0.02 NTU (0.15 Nephelos; 0.01 EBC) + or - 5% of reading above 1000 NTU (6700 Nephelos; 245 EBC). The measuring mode can be set to normal, average, or continuous, to either EBC or Nephelos measuring units, and to one of several languages. Dimensions are 230 x 200 x 145 mm (9 x 7.9 x 5.7â€) with weight 2.5 Kg (88 oz.). Turbidity meters measure the loss of transparency due to suspended particles present in a solution. They are commonly used to measure the turbidity of water in both the field and laboratory. Hanna Instruments manufactures a wide variety of analytical instrumentation, including pH meters, multi-parameter meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. Founded in 1978, Hanna is headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, with subsidiaries in 32 countries. Hanna Instruments holds many firsts in the field o...
