The Mitutoyo grade AS-1 rectangular gage block is made of ceramic, has its nominal length engraved in inches, and is supplied with a Mitutoyo inspection certificate that states that the block meets American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B89.1.9-2002 grade standard for flatness, length, parallelism, and surface finish. The inspection certificate specifies the deviation of the individual block from its nominal length. Gage blocks are commonly used to calibrate fixtures and precision instruments in workshop, inspection, and dimensional metrology applications, to inspect tools such as mounting tools, cutters, fixtures, and mechanical parts, and in the gage manufacturing process itself. The grade AS-1 gage block is commonly used for workshop and inspection applications to calibrate fixtures and precision instruments, to inspect a variety of tools such as mounting tools, cutters, fixtures, and mechanical parts, and for manufacturing gage applications. It is made of ceramic which resists corrosion, abrasion, and burrs, withstands high temperatures without melting (high thermal expansion resistance), and provides dimensional stability. This gage block has a rectangular base for accurate wringing. Nominal length is measured in inches, and is indicated with laser-etched, black characters. The length of a gage block is usually slightly shorter than its stamped nominal length, to account for the thin layer of oil or wring film used when two or more blocks are wrung together. An identification number is laser-etched on the block for traceability. The block has a depth of 0.355 inches. It comes in a carrying case with a padded, formed interior. This gage block is supplied with a Mitutoyo inspection certificate [National Institute of Standards in Engineering (NIST)-traceable] that the block meets ASME B89.1.9-2002 standard for flatness, length, parallelism, and surface finish. Gage blocks (also called gauge blocks, Hoke blocks, Jo blocks, slip gages, and Johansson gages) are blocks used to calibrate measuring equipment...

The Fluke 810T noncontact tachometer attachment measures from 6 to 99,999rpm with accuracy to +/-0.05%, uses a laser beam, and has a 50cm cable. This noncontact tachometer is for with the Fluke 810 vibration tester, to measure the speed of motors, conveyor belts, and other moving and rotational systems. It measures from 6 to 99,999rpm with accuracy to + or - 0.05 percent. Its optical sensor is a laser beam that works at a distance of 1 to 100cm for user safety. Its integral 50cm cable connects the tachometer to the vibration tester for power and measurement data recording. It carries the CE mark to indicate compliance with applicable EU directives. This tachometer is suitable for measuring rotational speed in conjunction with vibration testing in mechanical or industrial engineering environments.Tachometers measure the rate of rotation or surface speed of motors, conveyor belts, and other moving systems. Contact tachometers take measurements through direct contact with the moving surface, and can measure both rpm and surface speed. Typically, contact tachometers come with a range of attachments that can be used to measure speed on different kinds of rotary systems, which may include tips used for measuring shafts with a central hole or flat end surfaces, and rotary wheels for measuring conveyor belts. Noncontact tachometers take measurements from a distance using a beam of infrared light, and provide highly accurate measurements. Contact tachometers are an excellent choice for dirty and dusty environments; noncontact tachometers only calculate rpm but are considered safer because they do not require the operator to be in close contact with the moving surface. Contact/noncontact tachometers, also known as dual, or combination tachometers, can be used to take contact and noncontact measurements. Some tachometers can also take other types of measurements, such as count or frequency, while others can output data to a computer for analysis. Tachometers are used in applications such as automobile maintenance, mechanica...

The Rice Lake metric precision test weight is constructed of polished stainless steel, meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Class 1 specifications, has a 7.95 density, and is designed for a variety of weighing operations. The weight can be adjusted by attaching other weights to the screw-knob. The weight is constructed of polished stainless steel for stability, resistance to corrosion, and low magnetic susceptibility, and a polished surface highlights wear that can affect weight precision. The set includes a precision test weight, a handling glove, and a protective case. The weight meets ASTM E617, Class 1 specification for use as a reference standard for calibrating other weights and high-precision balances with readabilities as low as 0.1mg to 0.01mg.Calibration weights are used to measure the weight or mass of an object using a balance or scale, or to calibrate other weights or instruments. Calibration weights can be certified or uncertified. Certified weights meet strict guidelines for accuracy and can usually be recertified. Certified weights are used in labs where a high degree of accuracy and repeatability is required. Uncertified weights are used where a lower degree of accuracy is required, including student laboratories, rough weighting operations, and measuring force. Hooked and slotted weights are often used to measure pressure, torque, and tensile strength, and to demonstrate basic laws of physics. Calibration weights differ from lab weights, which are general purpose weights used to hold an object in place, similar to a paperweight. Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engine...

Gage blocks are commonly used to calibrate fixtures and precision instruments in workshop, inspection, and dimensional metrology applications, to inspect tools such as mounting tools, cutters, fixtures, and mechanical parts, and in the gage manufacturing process itself.Wear gage blocks are wrung with frequently used gage blocks to prevent wear. Grade AS-1 gage blocks are commonly used in workshop and inspection applications to calibrate fixtures and precision instruments, to inspect a variety of tools such as mounting tools, cutters, fixtures, and mechanical parts, and for gage manufacturing applications. Tungsten carbide is harder than steel and ceramic for greater resistance to wear, and more resistant to thermal expansion for accuracy. Rectangular-shaped blocks provide accurate wringing. The nominal length of each block is measured in inches, and is indicated with laser-etched, black characters. The length of a gage block is usually slightly shorter than its stamped nominal length, to account for the thin layer of oil or wring film used when two or more blocks are wrung together. All Mitutoyo gage blocks meet or exceed all known specifications. The flatness and parallelism surface finish necessary to achieve the required accuracies are the same as or better than government requirements. A certificate of inspection is furnished with all Mitutoyo gage blocks with a serial number on the case and an identification number on each block. The deviation of each block is registered. For this inspection, each gage block is measured relative to the upper level master using a gage block comparator. Grade K gage blocks are manufactured by absolute measurement using an interferometer. The gage block set and discrete gage block are supplied with a certificate of calibration. The certificate of calibration specifies the deviation from the nominal length. (Comparative measurement, however, is performed for all square gage blocks.). A certificate of accuracy, traceable to the NIST, is furnished with each Mitutoyo gage block set and individual block.
