The Mitutoyo 368 series Holtest vernier inside micrometer has three-point contacts for self-centering measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of bores, and a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise ID measurements. It also has a ratchet-stop mechanism that helps provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurements. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.001mm or 0.005mm depending on the model. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped or TiN-coated for wear resistance depending on the model. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Mitutoyo 526-124 Dial Bore Gauge for Extra Small Holes has a measurement range of 7 to 10 mm. It is accurate to + or - 0.004 mm and precise to 0.001 mm. This direct-measuring gauge uses a split ball design to measure the inside diameter of holes and identify out-of-roundness problems with stainless steel contact points for high wear resistance. The gauge stem diameter is 8 mm.Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gauges are typically calibrated with a setting ring and come in two types: simple and direct-measuring. Simple bore gauges are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gauges take the measurement directly, and display it through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gauges have a two- or three-point contact, indicating how many points on the gauge head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point contacts are used to measure lobing or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gauges are used for fast, single-handed operation with repeatable results from one operator to another. Bore gauges can also be used in special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The 145 series vernier inside micrometer has caliper-type jaws and a vernier scale in metric units for making precise inside dimension (ID) measurements. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.01mm. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The Fowler electronic chrome-plated twin-beam height gauge has a measurement range of 0 to 24" (600mm), a high-contrast LCD readout precise to 0.001" (0.01mm), an accuracy of + or – 0.002", a hand-operated slider, a carbide-tipped scriber, and a rust-resistant satin chrome finish. A calibrated screw mechanism supports coarse and fine, uniform slider adjustments. A large, hand-operated feed wheel raises and lowers the gauge on the beams with smooth, even travel, and is selectable for coarse or fine feed. The gauge has a hold function to freeze recordings on the display, and a zero setting function. Relative and absolute measuring functions allow measurements of the true size or comparison measurements of parts to a master. The included scriber, used to mark position on the workpiece, is carbide-tipped for hardness and durability. The gauge is powered by one SR44 1.55V silver oxide battery (sold separately) that provides up to one year of normal use. The display flashes to indicate when battery replacement is needed. The gauge has a working environment temperature of 32 to 104 degrees F (0 to 40 degrees C) with a surrounding relative humidity of 80 percent. Storage and transport temperature is -4 to 158 degrees F (-20 to 70 degrees C). The satin chrome finish on the scales resists rust and is glare-free. The base is hardened, ground, and lapped for maximum flatness. The scriber on this height gauge can be removed and replaced with the included indicator holder, which accepts a 3/8" indicator stem or a dovetail to attach instruments such as a test indicator to measure squareness. The height gauge also comes with a molded case.Height gauges, sometimes referred to as gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The vertical position of the gauge and its attached pointer are changed by turning a calibrated screw, or one or more feed wheels. Recorded rotations are read from ...
