The Starrett 1019M-25 internal dial caliper gauge opens from 0.400†to 1.400†with a 3-1/4†arm length, and has carbide ball contacts for longer life and wear resistance. The arms reach into the workpiece, such as in bores of castings and inside readings in fabrications, to easily measure small sections of that workpiece. The retraction lever allows for one-handed use and gauge control, while a direct reading dial hand is accurate. Dial indicators, also called dial gauges or probe indicators, are precision measuring tools used to accurately measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can more easily be read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking the variation in tolerance of a workpiece. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measurement is perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicator. Dial indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation. The L. S. Starrett Company was founded in 1880, originally manufacturing bench vises, squares, and other tools. They acquired other companies throughout the years, expanding their services into making precision measurement instruments and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, saw blades, and gauges. Starrett is headquartered in Athol, Massachusetts and has manufacturing facilities in Brazil, the United Kingdom, China, and other locations.

The Mitutoyo 570-244 electronic height gauge has a measurement range of 0 to 8" (200mm), a high-contrast LCD readout, a precision of 0.0005" (0.01mm), an accuracy of + or – 0.001", a hand-operated slider, an electrostatic capacitance linear encoder, and a carbide-tipped scriber. A calibrated screw mechanism supports fine, uniform slider adjustments. The hold function freezes recordings on the display. Relative and absolute measuring functions allow measurements of the true size or comparison measurements of parts to a master. An electrostatic capacitance linear encoder prevents overspeed errors to ensure reliable, precise measurement. The included scriber, used to mark position on the workpiece, is carbide-tipped for hardness and durability. The gauge is powered by one SR44 1.55V silver oxide battery (sold separately) that provides approximately 5000 hours of normal use. An alarm indicates when battery replacement is needed. The gauge has a working environment temperature of 32 to 104 degrees F (0 to 40 degrees C). Storage and transport temperature is 14 to 140 degrees F (-10 to 60 degrees C). The satin chrome finish on the scales resists rust and is glare-free. The base is ergonomically shaped for ease of handling. The height gauge also comes with a scriber clamp.Height gauges, sometimes referred to as gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The vertical position of the gauge and its attached pointer are changed by turning a calibrated screw, or one or more feed wheels. Recorded rotations are read from a scale, a dial, counters, and/or an electronic display. A screw clamp holds the pointer to the gauge. The pointer is typically sharpened to act as a scriber, and can be used to mark a position on a workpiece by scratching its surface. On compatible units, the scriber may be replaced by an electronic touch-signal probe. Height gauges are typically used in manufact...

The Mitutoyo 368-991 Holtest Type II three-point internal micrometer set has alloyed-steel points, a measurement range of 12 to 20 mm, and is precise to 0.005 mm, with + or - 2 micrometers of accuracy. Alloyed-steel measuring contact points offer durability, while contact point geometry allows the instrument to measure to the bottom of a blind hole. The ratchet stop offers constant force for repeatability. Includes inspection certificate ensuring that the exact micrometer purchased has met National Institute of Standards and Technology master standards. This gage set includes two complete display units, a setting ring, extension rod, and fitted plastic case. Bore gages measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gages are typically calibrated with a setting ring. Bore gages come in two types, one simple, and the other direct-measuring. Simple bore gages are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gages take the measurement directly, and display the measurement through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gages have a two- or three-point contact, which indicates how many points on the gage head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point systems are used to measure lobing, or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gages are used for fast, single-handed operation with good repeatability from one operator to another. Bore gages, regardless of type, can be used in some special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.
