The Mitutoyo 514-105 vernier height gauge has a measurement range of 0†- 18"/0 - 450 mm, and is graduated in both inches and metric to 0.001â€/0.02 mm, with + or – 0.002â€/0.05 mm of accuracy. The scriber, used to mark a position on a workpiece, is 32 mm x 80 mm (H x W), carbide-tipped for hardness and to help prolong life, and is held to the gauge by a screw clamp for secure fastening. The grip-base helps hold the unit in position by hand. An adjustable beam with a ring-type lock nut supports repositioning of the zero reference point for manual change of the base position. The slider and beam are made of hardened stainless steel, with a glare-free satin chrome finish that helps resist rust. The height gauge weighs 7.5 lbs/3.4 kg. A vernier scale provides precise measurement through a second sliding scale that indicates where measurement lies between marks on the main scale. A calibrated screw mechanism supports fine, uniform slider adjustments. Height gauges, also called gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The vertical position of the gauge and its attached pointer are changed by turning a calibrated screw, or one or more feed wheels. Recorded rotations are read from a scale, a dial, counters, and/or an electronic display. A screw clamp holds the pointer to the gauge. The pointer is typically sharpened to act as a scriber, and can be used to mark a position on a workpiece by scratching its surface. On compatible units, the scriber may be replaced by an electronic touch-signal probe. Height gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Mitutoyo 526-150 Dial Bore Gauge for Extra Small Holes has a measurement range of 3.7 to 7.3 mm and is accurate to + or - 0.004 mm. This direct-measuring gauge uses a split ball design to measure the inside diameter of holes and identify out-of-roundness problems with stainless steel contact points for high wear resistance. The gauge stem diameter is 8 mm and the probe depth is 32 mm. This gauge is for use with Mitutoyo dial indicators (sold separately).Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gauges are typically calibrated with a setting ring and come in two types: simple and direct-measuring. Simple bore gauges are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gauges take the measurement directly, and display it through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gauges have a two- or three-point contact, indicating how many points on the gauge head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point contacts are used to measure lobing or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gauges are used for fast, single-handed operation with repeatable results from one operator to another. Bore gauges can also be used in special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The Mitutoyo Digimatic tubular LCD inside micrometer includes a set of hollow, tubular extension pipes to help provide light weight with rigidity and balance shoulderswhen measuring inside dimensions of cylinders, rings, and parallel surfaces. It has a single-value LCD readout that displays in inch and metric units with resolution to 0.00005†(0.001mm), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data output to transmit results to a computer or external device. The output jack transmits SPC results to a computer through an interface cable (sold separately). The micrometer’s electronic microprocessor can hold measurements at any position, convert to absolute value, set a temporary zero position, and return to a true zero reading. The electronics housing has an Ingress Protection 65 (IP65) rating, which means that components are resistant to penetration by dust and debris, and resistant to penetration by liquids and coolant up to the force of a low-pressure (to 30 kilonewtons/meter-squared) water jet. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The micrometer includes, and is powered by, a single SR44 silver oxide battery, and comes with a wooden case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems.
