The Mitutoyo 111 series tube micrometer has a vertical anvil for measuring tubing wall thickness, and a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise outside diameter (OD) measurements. It also has a ratchet-stop mechanism to help provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurement during adjustment. The anvil type may be pin, spherical, or cylindrical, depending on the model. The micrometer’s frame has a baked enamel finish for protection and durability. The vernier scale on the thimble and sleeve is graduated to 0.01mm with a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The spindle and anvil are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. A spindle lock helps provide secure locking of the measurement position. The micrometer comes with a plastic case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Mitutoyo dial indicator has a black or white face, a choice of flat or lug, a 0.375" stem diameter, and inch measurements. The indicator has a 0.375" diameter stem, a #4-48 UNF contact point thread mount, and is used to measure surface variations in fractional inches. The choice of black or white dial and a contrasting hand help make measurements easy to read. The dial indicator comes with a choice of flat or lug back for a variety of mounting options. Flat back dial indicators are either clamp-mounted on the stem or plate-mounted on the rear of the indicator. Lug back dial indicators have a protrusion with a hole to mount the indicator using a lug or nut and bolt. Lug back dial test indicators usually come with the lug installed horizontally. The back on most indicators can be rotated to the vertical position. It has a stem design that provides a long clamping range, no through screw-holes on the frame for dust- and water resistance, and an involute curved lifting lever that provides smooth movement of spindle and dovetail joint for a tool-less connection. This dial indicator meets ANSI standards, Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) B7503-1997, and American Gage Design (AGD) standards for face and thread size, and bezel and stem diameter. Dial readings with three digits, such as 0-10-0, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, such as 0-100, indicate that the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used to read the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials. Optional features include jeweled bearings for high sensitivity and accuracy, a revolution counter to measure overall change, waterproof, dustproof, shockproof, a white or black face, and reverse reading for depth or bore gage measurement.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, dial calipers, and probe indicators. These precision measuring tools are used to accurately measure small linear ...

The Brown & Sharpe TESA Tesatast series dial test indicator has a yellow face, a 2mm stem diameter, and metric measurements. The indicator can make either horizontal or vertical measurements, and the choice of white or yellow dial help make measurements easy to read. The yellow face with contrasting black hand complies with ANSI standards for metric dial faces. The carbide, ball-contact tip reaches into the workpiece for accurate measurements of turned, milled, and ground parts, and for tool setting gauges, fixtures, and inspections. The continuous clockwise pointer rotation helps prevent plus or minus confusion and displays units in fractional millimeters (mm). The ball-bearing lever system swivels through to 180 degrees. The dial face mounted at the top of the indicator parallel to the axis, and three universal dovetail mounts can be used for mounting from the top, front, or back. Dovetail mounts provide a rigid setup. This indicator has a Monoblock body design with pinions mounted in jeweled bearings in an isolated assembly separate from the outer body, for high accuracy. It is anti-magnetic for safety when used around magnetic workpieces and debris, and has full-metal construction for durability and corrosion resistance. This dial test indicator meets Deutsches Institut fur Normung (DIN) 2270, and Norme Francaise (French Institute for Standardization) NF E 11-053 standards, and includes an identification number and a declaration of conformity. The set includes a dial test indicator, a 0.080" (2mm) ball-end carbide contact point, a 0.310"(8mm) extension with dovetail, a point key, a Certificate of Accuracy and Traceability, and a storage box. Dial readings with three digits, such as 0-10-0, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, such as 0-100, indicate that the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used to read the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than ba...

The Mitutoyo Series 527 Vernier Depth Gauges, with Fine Adjustment, Caliper Type, Inch, depending on the model, have a measurement range from 0 to 6" to 0 to 40", a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.001", with + or – 0.001 to 0.003" of accuracy. The vernier scale and fine adjustment screw provide precise measurements. These gauges have a fine adjustment screw for taking precise measurements. They are made of hardened steel and the bases of the units and measuring faces are hardened and lapped for durability and accuracy. An optional wider extension base is sold separately. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. Then the contact should be brought against the work with enough pressure to give the hand one full turn. Set the hand at zero by rotating the dial with the knurled bezel. This provides one full rotation of the hand both to the right and left of zero, showing a rise or drop in the work and the amount of that variation.
