The Brown & Sharpe TESA Isomaster standard outside micrometer has a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise outside diameter (OD) measurements, a friction drive thimble mechanism for uniform pressure during adjustment, and tungsten carbide faces for wear resistance. The micrometer’s frame is heat-insulated to help reduce temperature-related expansion or contraction. The vernier scale on the thimble and sleeve is graduated to 0.0001â€, with slanted markings on the barrel to help reduce parallax errors when reading, and a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The spindle and anvil have flat measuring faces and are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. A spindle lock helps provide secure locking of the measurement position. The micrometer comes with a plastic case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Brown & Sharpe manufactures precision measuring equipment and metrology hand tools. The company, founded in 1833, played a key role in setting industrial standards in the United States. Brown & Sharpe was acquired by Hexagon Metrology in 2001, and is headquartered in North Kingstown, RI.

The Brown & Sharpe TESA Compac series lever dial test indicator has a white face, a 4mm stem diameter, and metric measurements. The indicator can make either horizontal or vertical measurements, and the white dial and contrasting black hand help make measurements easy to read. The compact, carbide, ball-contact tip reaches into the workpiece for accurate measurements of turned, milled, and ground parts, and for tool setting gauges, fixtures, and inspections. The continuous clockwise pointer rotation helps prevent plus or minus confusion. The ball-bearing lever system swivels through to 210 degrees. The dial face mounted at the top of the indicator parallel to the axis, and two universal dovetail mounts can be used for mounting from the top or back. Dovetail mounts provide a rigid setup. This indicator is anti-magnetic for safety when used around magnetic workpieces and debris, and has full-metal construction for durability and corrosion resistance. This dial test indicator meets Deutsches Institut fur Normung (DIN) 2270, includes a serial number, and an inspection report with a declaration of conformity. The set includes a dial test indicator, a 0.080" (2mm) ball-end carbide contact point, two 15mm long rigid stems (4mm and 8mm diameter), and inspection report with a declaration of conformity, and a storage box.Dial readings with three digits, such as 0-10-0, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, such as 0-100, indicate that the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used to read the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, dial calipers, and probe indicators. These precision measuring tools are used to accurately measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can more easily be read by the human eye. The Starrett 262M series long range micrometer head has a non-rotating spindle that helps prevent wear to the workpiece, and a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise measurements to 25mm. It also has a knurled ring-type lock nut to hold measurements in place. The micrometer has a plain stem for mounting in a fixture with a split-body clamp or setscrew. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.01mm, and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The spindle is made of hardened steel to help provide durability, with a flat measuring face suitable for measurement or use as a stop, and is micro-lapped to help provide accuracy.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. The PosiPen by DeFelsko is a simple, easy-to-use instrument for measuring non-magnetic coatings such as paint, enamel, plating, and hot-dip galvanizing on steel. Its convenient form factor is simillar to a ballpoint pen. The PosiPen has a very small, unique magnet which can be placed with pin-point accuracy on extremely small parts, and on peaks and in valleys. In many cases, the compact design of the PosiPen enables it to measure where no other handheld instrument, mechanical or electronic, can accurately measure. The PosiPen is also ideal for supervisors or inspectors who desire a quick spot check without the size, cost, or complexity of a more advanced electronic instrument. The PosiPen is easy to use- simply place the tip of the PosiPen on the coated surface and allow the magnet to make contact. Pull the PosiPen straight from the object to be measured while keeping close watch on the appropriate indicator. Note the reading when the magnet releases. The PosiPen features scales in imperial and metric units on opposite sides of the instrument for use with any specification. Each PosiPen comes complete with leather pouch (with belt clip), instructions, Long Form Certificate of Calibration traceable to PTB, and two year warranty.

The Fowler 52-246 series outside micrometer has a blade-style anvil/spindle pair with a choice of measuring range and 0.0001" graduations and is designed to measure groove diameters of shafts and workpieces with narrow or recessed features. The Vernier scale has 0.0001" graduations and an accuracy of 0.0002" for precise readings and accurate measurements. A zero adjustment on the sleeve ensures accurate measurements. The blade has a 0.030" thickness, a 0.256" width, and a 0.315" penetration for measuring narrow grooves and hard-to-reach areas, and a non-rotating spindle keeps workpieces stable during measurements. The hardened, ground, and lapped spindle thread provides smooth movement, accuracy, and long life. The ratchet-stop thimble can be used independently of the friction thimble. It provides an audible sound and stops the spindle from turning when the spindle comes into contact with the workpiece, providing constant force for consistent measurements between operators. A satin chrome finish on the thimble and sleeve helps reduce rust and glare, providing durability and long life, and microfine graduations help ensure accurate readings. The baked-enamel frame is heat-insulated to provide durability, long life, and resistance to temperature-related expansion and contraction. The micrometer includes a wrench and a fitted case. For use with all Starrett Test, Back-Plunger, AGD, Dial, and Miniature Dial Indicators. Also accommodates similar indicators of other manufacturers. The flexible post is an assembly of short tubular steel sections and precision ball joints, linked by an internal steel cable. It can be adjusted to any position and locked by turning a lever near the magnetic base. This makes it possible to use indicators in awkward places that are hard to reach with conventional holding devices. Assembled to the magnetic base, the post has a vertical reach of approximately 15" (380mm) and a horizontal reach of approximately 10" (250mm). The indicator snug on the end of the post can be rotated through 360 degree and locked in any position. The base has three precision ground magnetic contact surfaces. Grips horizontally, vertically or upside down. V-step holds base to arbors, shafts, chucks. Gauge Rod: 3/8" x 3" has 5/16, 1/4 and 7/32" steps, holds nos. 708, 709, 711 and 811 dial test indicators by body clamp.
