The Fowler 52-252-211 multi-anvil EZ-Read outside micrometer has a digit display with a 0.0001" resolution, a 0 to 1" measuring range, and an interchangeable anvil for measuring tube thickness, shoulder edge distances, rivet heads, and other hard-to-measure workpieces. The flat spindle has a carbide-tipped measuring face for wear resistance and the interchangeable flat and rod-style anvils provide a variety of measuring options. The flat anvil has a thickness of 0.058" and a 1" length. The rod-style anvil has a 0.120" diameter and a 1" length. The locking lever on the spindle locks measurements in place for accurate readings. A friction thimble applies constant force for repeatability between users. Friction-style thimbles are suitable for one-handed operation and stop turning when the spindle comes into contact with the workpiece, providing constant force for consistent measurements between operators. The micrometer includes a flat anvil and rod-style anvil. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. The Fred V. The Brown & Sharpe Miti-Mite Heavy Duty Large Magnetic Base, compatible with dial and dial test indicators, grips three ways, has a v-base, and an always-on magnetic field. The v-base grips to flat and rounded surfaces. The 0.75 x 1.25 x 4 inch (H x W x D) base grips horizontally, vertically, and upside-down, with a 6.125†long tool post. (H is the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is the horizontal distance from left to right; D is the horizontal distance from front to back.) Ball and socket joint in the base post allows for a wider range of movement than a typical pin joint. The offset rod is 6.125†long and designed to connect to measuring tools having a 0.25†lug back. The swivel clamp hole for rods is 0.25†diameter, with a 0.3125†diameter post hole. Magnetic bases are magnetic fixtures commonly used in metalworking to hold dial indicators, and are also used in other fields, such as optics. Magnetic bases can assist the user with setting up a workpiece in a milling machine, surface grinder, or other machine tool. The vertical post and rod in a magnetic base connect using swiveling connectors, or snugs. This allows free motion of the arm so that the dial indicator can be moved into position on the workpiece. Many magnetic bases have a V-step, which is a V-shaped notch in the base for holding the base to arbors, shafts, and other cylindrical items. The magnetic base has a circular hole through the center. A round permanent magnet is inserted into this hole, and a handle or button is attached to allow the user to rotate the magnet. Rotating the magnet turns the base on and off as this causes the position of the magnetic field to rotate as well. In the on position, the iron is acting as an extension of the magnet, while in the off position, the magnet is acting as a keeper, preventing the magnetic field from extending through the base. The Fowler 54-866-001 Quadramic digital outside micrometer has two LCDs for four-way viewing, a 0 to 1"/0 to 25mm measuring range, and a flat anvil/spindle pair for general purpose measuring. Two LCDs can be viewed from upright or inverted from the front or back. A switchable resolution of 0.00005" and 0.001mm provides precise readings. Carbide measuring faces provide durability and wear resistance. A friction thimble provides smooth and quiet operations, and is suitable for one-handed operation. Friction-style thimbles stop turning when the spindle comes into contact with the workpiece, providing constant force for consistent measurements between operators. The housing is Ingress Protection (IP) certified IP54 for protection against dust and water. The LCD has a hold feature that saves the reading for recording. Absolute measurements provide the total dimension of the workpiece. An automatic shut-off feature extends battery life. RS-232 output transfers data to a computer (cable not included). The micrometer requires a CR2032 battery (included), and includes a wrench and a fitted case. The Brown & Sharpe 599-603-123-3 Vernier Depth Gauge, Micrometer Type, Inch, has a measurement range of 0 to 3", and a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.0001", with + or - 0.003mm of accuracy. The vernier scale provides precise, fine measurements. This depth gauge has a hardened, precision base that is 2.5" long, and is used as a reference for measurements. It has a friction thimble for uniform measurements. The unit includes three 0.125" rods. The gauge conforms to the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) 863 T2 (style T) and Norme Française (NF) E 11-097 standards. It has a satin-chrome finish for glare-free reading. The shipping weight for this gauge is 1.5 lb. and it comes with a fitted wooden case. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display.Brown & Sharpe manufactures precision measuring equipment and metrology hand tools. The company, founded in 1833, is headquartered in North Kingstown, RI.
