The Brown & Sharpe TESA measuring head for Intrimik micrometers is an accessory for use with the Brown & Sharpe Intermik LCD capa micrometer. It has three-point contacts for self-centering measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of bores. The measuring head is made of high-grade tool steel for durability and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The measuring faces are made of hardened steel and may be uncoated, TiN-coated, or tungsten carbide-tipped for wear resistance, depending on the model.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Brown & Sharpe manufactures precision measuring equipment and metrology hand tools. The company, founded in 1833, played a key role in setting industrial standards in the United States. Brown & Sharpe was acquired by Hexagon Metrology in 2001, and is headquartered in North Kingstown, RI.

The Starrett 449 Vernier Depth Gauges, Micrometer Type, Inch, depending on the model, have a measurement range of 0 to 3" or 0 to 6", a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.001", with + or – 0.0001" of accuracy. The vernier scale enables precise measurements in fine units. The gauges in this series have non-rotating blades, or flattened probes, that are 1/64" wide by 1/8" long, and can be used to measure narrow recessions without the blade slipping off of a surface. These units include measuring rods to cover the intended range. They come with a ratchet and speeder to enable the users to apply uniform pressure and make quick adjustments for precise measurements. Depending on the model, the bases are either 2.5" or 4" long and all measuring surfaces of these units are hardened, ground, and lapped for durability and data accuracy. These units include a protective case. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display. The L.S. Starrett Company manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology and testing equipment, and saw blade products. The company, founded in 1880, is headquartered in Athol, MA.

The Mitutoyo 543-392B Absolute Digimatic electronic indicator gauge, ID-C series, is for measuring short, linear distances in mechanical engineering, machining, and manufacturing applications. It has a measurement range of 0 to 0.5" (0 to 12.7mm), a resolution of 0.00005" or 0.001mm, and an accuracy of + or - 0.0001". The LCD screen displays measurements in inches and metric units. The indicator has a go/no-go display that lights green or red, respectively, when upper and/or lower tolerances have been set, and the result can be displayed in full-size characters. The face of the indicator can be rotated 330 degrees for reading from different directions. This unit has a 3/8" diameter stem and a #4-48 UNF contact point thread mount. It has a flat back for stem mounting or plate mounting on the rear of the indicator. An Absolute electrostatic capacitance-type linear encoder helps prevent overspeed errors for taking accurate measurements. This model is Ingress Protection certified IP42 for protection against objects greater than 1mm and dripping water.Additional functions for this indicator include origin set, preset, zero set, counting direction switching, and alerts for low voltage, counting value composition, overflow, and tolerance limit setting errors. The measuring force is 1.5 Newtons (N) or less. It has a battery life of approximately 7,000 hours of normal use. This unit comes with a SR44 battery. This gauge offers serial data output (using optional SPC cables, sold separately), which increases speed and reliability of digital measurement records.SpecificationsRange0 to 0.5" (0 to 12.7mm)Resolution0.00005" or 0.001mmAccuracy+ or - 0.0001" with quantizing error of 1 countMeasuring force1.5N or lessStem#4-48 UNF contact point thread mount with 3/8" diameter stemFaceBacklit LCD displays in both inches and metric units, green or red lighting displays go/no-go judgment, rotates 330 degrees, with flat backData outputYesDimensions117.8 x 59 x 36.4mm (H x W x D)Shipping weight0.6lb.StandardsIP42Power sourceSR-44 batte...
