The Mitutoyo 148 series small-size micrometer head has and a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise measurements to 13mm. A setscrew offers adjustable zero-setting to help provide accuracy. The micrometer is available with a plain stem for mounting in a fixture with a split-body clamp or setscrew, or a clamp-nut stem for quick mounting. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.01mm, and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The measuring face is lapped to help provide accuracy.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. Micrometer heads are for mounting in fixtures, where they are typically used for measurement, or as stops or feeds.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

Fowler 52-235 series Vernier-scale micrometers have a choice of measuring range and a 0.256" diameter flat anvil/spindle pair for general purpose measuring. The Vernier scale has 0.0001" graduation intervals and 0.0001" accuracy for precise readings. The anvil/spindle pair have hardened, precision-ground, and micro-lapped measuring faces with 0.00003" flatness and 0.00005" parallelism on 0 to 1" micrometers for accurate measurements. Metric equivalents inscribed on the frame in black provide quick reference. The positive locking lever on the spindle locks measurements in place for accurate readings and the zero adjustment on the sleeve ensures accurate measurements. The ratchet-stop thimble provides an audible sound and stops turning when the spindle comes into contact with the workpiece, providing constant force for consistent measurements between operators. The steel frame is tapered for hard-to-reach locations. The micrometer includes a wrench and fitted case. Micrometers 2" and above include a standard. The Fowler 54-565-233 High-Accuracy Ultima Bore Gauging System has a measurement range of 7.878 to 8.27" and is accurate to + or - 0.00006". Resolution is 0.00001" and the measuring depth is 3.15". The gauge has constant spring pressure for repeatability and Bower's FastFit measuring heads for rapid measurement. It uses a three-point contact system for the detection of lobing or triangular form error, and ceramic contact points provide high durability and stability with regard to thermal expansion. The Ultima system requires connection to a Sylvac or multiplexer display unit. This product has 1 year warranty offered by Fowler High Precision.
