The Starrett 98-12 precision machinists’ level is a 12" long spirit level with a graduated main vial that has a sensitivity of 0.42 mm/m or 80 to 90 seconds for determining horizontal plane, a cross-test vial that enables simultaneous leveling in two directions, and a plumb vial for determining vertical plane. The main vial is adjustable to a positive setting for accurate results, is made of ground glass vial that resists scratching to provide clear readings, and is housed in a brass tube with a friction-fit closing to resist breakage. A V-shaped groove along the base provides reliable seating when leveling round items such as pipe, conduit, and shafts. The level has a cast iron base for durability. Levels are used in the building trades, engineering, surveying, and metalworking, among other applications. Levels are instruments that are used to determine the true horizontal or vertical plane of a surface. The most common type of level is the spirit level, or bubble level. Spirit levels have a liquid-filled, bowed tube (also called a vial) with a bubble that moves when slight adjustments are made to the level. When the bubble settles between marked points on the vial, it indicates that a surface is horizontally or vertically straight. Levels can have one or more vials to determine the horizontal plane, the vertical plane, or various points between, such as a 45-degree angle, simultaneously. Some levels include a laser line indicator that projects a horizontal or vertical beam on a surface. Bullseye levels, or surface levels, are circular, flat-bottomed spirit levels that determine whether a surface plane is level. Machinists’ levels are made of metal and have surfaces designed specifically for rugged use in a machine shop or tool room. Levels can range from highly-complex and accurate machines, such as those used in the surveying and construction industry, to precision instruments used in carpentry and other building trades, to simple, pocket-sized devices for do-it-yourself projects. The Mitutoyo 133 series tubular vernier inside micrometer has a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise inside dimension (ID) measurements of the inside of cylinders, rings, and parallel surfaces. The micrometer head sleeve rotates to adjust the zero point to help provide accuracy. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.01mm, and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Mitutoyo Series 571 ABSOLUTE Digimatic LCD Depth Gauge, Hook End Type, Inch/Metric have a measurement range for this series of 0 up to 8" (0 up to 200mm), and a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.0005" (0.01mm), with up to + or - 0.0015" of accuracy. The LCD screen displays in both inches and metric, and can keep track of the origin point for the life of the battery (about 3 years under normal use). The bases are 100mm (3.94") long, and the measuring faces of the units are hardened, ground, and lapped for durability and accuracy. The gauges in this series conform to European Conformity (CE) marking and the Ingress Protection 67 (IP67) standard. The display has origin-set, zero, and data output functions for convenience. The units support SPC output. The gauges in this series include an SR44 battery. Optional SPC cables and a wider extension base are sold separately. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL.

Product Description
The Wheel is a high precision, accurate instrument which is easy to use. The central wheel is of a smaller diameter and is eccentric relative to the two outer wheels.By rolling the gauge through a wet coating, the centre wheel eventually touches the film. This point on the scale indicates the thickness. When the volume to solids ratio of the coating is known (generally found on the product data sheet supplied by the manufacturer), the wet film thickness can be used to predict the dry film thickness.
