The Mitutoyo caliper type micrometer has caliper-type jaws for making outer dimension (OD) measurements. It also has a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise outside diameter (OD) measurements, a ratchet-stop mechanism to help provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurement during adjustment, and carbide-tipped measuring faces for wear resistance. The micrometer’s frame has a baked enamel finish for protection and durability. The vernier scale on the thimble and sleeve is graduated to 0.01mm with a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The micrometer comes with a plastic case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Mitutoyo Series 7200 Dial Depth Gauges, Indicator Type, Metric, depending on the model, have a measurement range of 0 to up to 210mm; a stroke (or travel distance of the indicator) of 5mm, 10mm, or 30mm; a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.01mm; with up to + or – 0.015mm of accuracy. The dial gauge interface provides precise and easily readable measurements. All units except model 7210 include extension measuring rods for flexibility. Models 7210 and 7222 have a carbide-tipped ball point for precise measurements. The bases of the units are available in both elongated and rounded designs. The bottom of the bases are hardened, ground, and lapped for durability and accuracy. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. An unique shock-proof mechanism is incorporated, providing improved immunity to shock due to sudden spindle retraction caused by high impact. Provided with an improved resistance to shop floor contaminants such as water and dust. Due to the spindle bushing being offset from the stem, spindle movement will not be hindered or jammed when clamping along the stem. A pair of limit hands are provided for quick and easy tolerance judgment (GO/ +/- NG). The crystal is hard coated for durability and scratch resistance.

The ratchet thimble mechanism helps to ensure repeatable results by transmitting micro vibrations along the spindle to the contact face to provide a constant measuring force and encourage good contact with the work piece. The ratchet works from the thimble as well as the speeder so it is always easy to use even when making measurements one handed. The sound of the ratchet provides the user with a sense of confidence and the speeder enables the rapid spindle feed needed when measuring widely different dimensions.

The Brown & Sharpe Bestest-5 series dial test indicator set has a black face and inch measurements. The indicator can make either horizontal or vertical measurements, and the black dial and contrasting white hand help make measurements easy to read. The carbide, ball-contact tip reaches into the workpiece for accurate measurements of turned, milled, and ground parts, and for tool setting gauges, fixtures, and inspections. The continuous clockwise pointer rotation helps prevent plus or minus confusion and displays reading in fractional inches. The ball-bearing lever system swivels through to 180 degrees. The dial face mounted at the top of the indicator parallel to the axis, and three universal dovetail mounts can be used for mounting from the top, front, or back. Dovetail mounts provide a rigid setup. This indicator has a Monoblock body design with pinions mounted in jeweled bearings in an isolated assembly separate from the outer body, for high accuracy. It is anti-magnetic for safety when used around magnetic workpieces and debris, and has full-metal construction for durability and corrosion resistance. This dial test indicator meets Deutsches Institut fur Normung (DIN) 2270, and Norme Francaise (French Institute for Standardization) NF E 11-053 standards, and includes a Certificate of Accuracy and Traceability. The set includes a black-face dial test indicator, a 0.080" (2mm) carbide contact point, a 0.250" diameter extension with dovetail, a point wrench, a Certificate of Accuracy and Traceability, and a storage box.Dial readings with three digits, such as 0-10-0, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, such as 0-100, indicate that the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used to read the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, dial calipers, and probe indicators. These precision measuring tools a...
