The use of Ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT) to check material properties such as thickness measurement, is now extensively used in all facets of industry. The ability to gauge thickness measurement without requiring access to both sides of the test piece, offers this technology a multitude of possible applications. Metals, plastics, ceramics, glass and other materials can easily be measured by portable ultrasonic thickness gauges with a common accuracy of.001". Ultrasonic thickness gauges measure the thickness of a part by measuring the time sound travels from the transducer through the material to the back end of a part, and then measures the time of reflection back to the transducer. The gauge then calculates the thickness based on the velocity of sound through the material being tested.

The RSMP380 is a twistable, extensible 25.4 mm mini-prism made with a rugged plastic housing system. When using the mini-prism RSMP380, the prism can always be aligned precisely with the measuring instrument. The 25.4 mm prism can be turned in a radius of 180º so the same survey point can be measured from different directions. Bridges, rail lines, buildings and other structures can be measured more quickly and precisely. With the integrated plug-in system, several prisms can be combined as needed. This permits measuring in difficult locations from different directions without having to turn the prism. Mounting adhesive enables quick and simple installation even on difficult surfaces while provided holes enable attachment with dowels or screws.

The Mitutoyo 192-130 dial height gauge has a measurement range of 0 to 300 mm, and is precise to 0.01 mm, with + or - 0.03 mm of accuracy. The dial gauge has distinct, easily-read figures for precise measurement to 0.01 mm, and dual, resettable counters additionally measure discrete up and down distance changes, in 0.1 mm increments. A large, hand-operated feed wheel raises and lowers the gauge on the parallel beams with smooth, even travel. The included scriber, used to mark a position on a workpiece, is 80 mm (l) x 32 mm (h), carbide-tipped for hardness and long life, and is held to the gauge by a screw clamp for easy and secure fastening. The grip-base design provides comfort when holding the unit in position by hand. The dial and counters display large, easily-viewed figures. The mass (weight) of the height gauge is 4.2 kg. Height gauges, sometimes referred to as gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The vertical position of the gauge and its attached pointer are changed by turning a calibrated screw, or one or more feed wheels. Recorded rotations are read from a scale, a dial, counters, and/or an electronic display. A screw clamp holds the pointer to the gauge. The pointer is typically sharpened to act as a scriber, and can be used to mark a position on a workpiece by scratching its surface. On compatible units, the scriber may be replaced by an electronic touch-signal probe. Height gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

These gauges directly measure the diameter of chamfered holes. No setting master is necessary. When the three-blade plunger is pressed against a flat surface, the gauge should read the set number stamped on the back of the indicator. In case of wear, the gauge may be adjusted to read the proper number.
