The Mitutoyo 368 series Holtest vernier inside micrometer has three-point contacts for self-centering measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of bores, and a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise ID measurements. It also has a ratchet-stop mechanism that helps provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurements. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.001mm or 0.005mm depending on the model. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped or TiN-coated for wear resistance depending on the model. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The starrett combination head for inside micrometers combines the precision of a dial indicator sensor and the linear accuracy of a micrometer. This combination of indicator and micrometer reduces the need for operator "feel" and provides faster readings with increased reliability. For millimeter-reading tools, the head can be adjusted within a range of 50mm. This extends the overall range an additional 125mm. The special no. 81-181J jeweled non-shock Indicator is graduated 0.01mm, range +/- 1mm and reads 0-100mm on both the plus and minus dials. The 250mm master should be used vertically with the shoulder on the indicator end of the head, seated squarely.

The Mitutoyo 139 series tubular vernier inside micrometer includes a set of extension pipes with anvils for a diversified range of measurement when measuring inside dimensions of cylinders, rings, and parallel surfaces. It has a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise inside dimension (ID) measurements to 0.01mm, and a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The micrometer head has a travel of 25mm per revolution that helps provide quick positioning. The hollow, tubular extension pipes help provide light weight with rigidity. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The micrometer and accessories come with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. The Mitutoyo 368-995 Holtest Type II three-point internal micrometer set has alloyed-steel points, a measurement range of 0.5 to 0.8â€, and is precise to 0.0002â€, with + or - 0.0001†of accuracy. Alloyed-steel measuring contact points offer durability, while contact point geometry allows the instrument to measure to the bottom of a blind hole. The ratchet stop offers constant force for repeatability. Includes inspection certificate ensuring that the exact micrometer purchased has met National Institute of Standards and Technology master standards. This gage set includes two complete display units, setting ring, extension rod, and a fitted plastic case. Bore gages measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gages are typically calibrated with a setting ring. Bore gages come in two types, one simple, and the other direct-measuring. Simple bore gages are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gages take the measurement directly, and display the measurement through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gages have a two- or three-point contact, which indicates how many points on the gage head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point systems are used to measure lobing, or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gages are used for fast, single-handed operation with good repeatability from one operator to another. Bore gages, regardless of type, can be used in some special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.
