The Mitutoyo 152 series large micrometer head has a vernier scale in metric units for taking precise measurements and a large-diameter thimble for ease of reading. It is available with a plain stem for mounting in a fixture with a split-body clamp or setscrew, or a clamp-nut stem for quick mounting. The vernier scale has bidirectional graduations to 0.002mm, and has a white anodized aluminum rust- and glare-resistant finish. The flat measuring face is carbide-tipped for wear resistance and is lapped to help provide accuracy.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. Micrometer heads are for mounting in fixtures, where they are typically used for measurement, or as stops or feeds.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

These dividers combine rigidity, light weight and easy handling. The legs are forged steel, well-shaped, properly tempered and highly polished. The adjustable point may be quickly removed and a common pencil inserted in its place. No. 88 Ball points may be used with the no. 92 Series. The sturdy construction of the joint, combined with the quadrant, eliminates side deflection of the legs. A quadrant adjusting nut permits fine-adjustments for close measurements. A check nut located between the legs locks the legs firmly after the proper adjustment has been made. This feature prevents the legs from moving in and out with the grain on wood when scribing, or sliding off rough spots when scribing on metals.

The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability, with a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The vernier scale on the thimble and sleeve is graduated to 0.01mm. The spindle and anvils are made of hardened steel for durability. The unit comes with a fitted carton for storage. The Starrett depth gauge base is available in a 4", 6", or 8" length and has one to three collet mounting hole locations for use with Starrett 648 series depth gauges. The supplied mounting collet holds a depth gauge (sold separately) securely. The base is 3/4" wide and has tapped mounting holes to fit 3/8" (9.5mm) gauge stem diameters. It is made of hardened steel for durability and accurate measurements, and is suitable for precise measurement in a variety of manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering applications.Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display. The L.S. Starrett Company manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology and testing equipment, and saw blade products. The company, founded in 1880, is headquartered in Athol, MA.
