The Hanna Instruments 93712-03 aluminum reagent, for use with the HI 96712 Aluminum Portable Photometer, contains the proper dosage for 300 tests that measure the aluminum content using the aluminon method in water samples in the 0.00 to 1.00 mg/L range. HI 93712-03 contains 300 packets of each of the two reagents required for the two-step process; one is an odorless, white powder and the other is an odorless, red powder. A reaction between the reagents and aluminium in a sample causes a distinct red color to appear, which is measured by the photometer. The photometer uses an adaptation of the aluminon method. Reagents are used in photometers to measure the light intensity of solutions or surfaces. The reagent is mixed with the sample and placed in the photometer, which then produces a reading. Reagents are commonly used in the water quality, agricultural, and horticultural industries to measure the amount of minerals and chemicals in water samples. Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards. What’s in the Box? 300 packets for each of the two aluminum reagents, HI 93712-03 Safety data sheet

Chlorine and pH are two of the most closely monitored parameters in water quality tests. Hardness is also an important parameter, attentively regulated to reduce waste or ensure proper functioning of equipment. Iron can cause an unpleasant taste or stain kitchenware or laundry. The HI96745 is a powerful instrument to keep all these parameters under control. The reagents are in liquid or powder form and are supplied in bottles or in packets. The cuvette has a very important role because it is an optical element and thus requires particular attention. It is important that both the measurement and calibration (zeroing) cuvettes, are optically identical to provide the same measuring conditions. HI96745 is supplied with 2 sample cuvettes with caps, battery and instructions. 6.5 to 8.5 pH, 0.00 to 5.00 milligrams per liter (ppm) chlorine, 0.00 to 4.70 milligrams per liter (ppm) total hardness and 0 to 1.60 milligrams per liter (ppm) iron LR range. 0.1 pH, 0.01 milligrams per liter under 3.50 milligrams per liter; 0.10 milligrams per liter above 3.50 milligrams per liter chlorine, 0.01 milligrams per liter total hardness and 0.01 milligrams per liter iron LR resolution. +/-0.1 pH, +/-0.03 milligrams per liter +/-3 percent of reading chlorine and +/-0.11 milligrams per liter +/-5 percent of reading total hardness and +/-0.01 milligrams per liter +/-8 percent of reading iron LR at 25 degree C accuracy. Tungsten lamp. Silicon photocell with narrow band interference filter at 525nm light detector. Auto-off: after ten minutes of non-use in measurement mode, after one hour of non-use in calibration mode with last reading reminder. 0 to 50 degree C (32 to 122 degree F); RH maximum 95 percent non-condensing environment. Measures 7.6" length by 4.1" width by 2.7" height. Phenol red method for pH, adaptation of the USEPA method 330.5 and standard method 4500-Cl G for chlorine, adaptation of the Standard Methods for the examination of Water and Wastewater.

HI96771 has been developed to check chlorine dosing in disinfection processes with ultra high concentrations of chlorine. The extended range from 0 to 500 milligrams per liter (ppm), it is ideal for the food industry, such as in fruit and vegetable washing. The HI96771 meter measures the free chlorine content in water samples and chlorine ultra high range. The methods are an adaptation of standard methods for the examination of water and wastewater, 20th edition, 4500-Cl. The meter uses an exclusive positive-locking system to ensure that the cuvette is in the same position every time it is placed into the measurement cell. It is designed to fit a cuvette with a larger neck making it easier to add both sample and reagents. The cuvette is made from special optical glass to obtain best results. HI96771 is supplied with 2 sample cuvettes with caps, 9V battery and instruction manual. Free Chlorine: 0.00 to 5.00 milligrams per liter, Chlorine UHR: 0 to 500 milligrams per liter range. Free Chlorine: 0.01 milligrams per liter from 0.00 to 3.50 milligrams per liter; 0.10 milligrams per liter above 3.50 milligrams per liter and Chlorine UHR: 1 milligrams per liter from 0 - 200 milligrams per liter; 10 milligrams per liter above 200 milligrams per liter resolution. +/-0.03 milligrams per liter +/-3 percent of reading for free chlorine and +/-3 milligrams per liter +/-3 percent of reading for chlorine UHR at 25 degree C accuracy. Tungsten lamp. Silicon photocell with narrow band interference filter at 466nm light detector. Auto-off: After 10 minutes of non-use in measurement mode, after 1 hour of non-use in calibration mode with last reading reminder. 0 to 50 degree C (32 to 122 degree F); RH maximum 95 percent non-condensing environment. Measures 7-19/32" length x 4-3/32" width x 2-11/16" height.

Neither iron nor manganese are considered dangerous, but high concentrations of these metals in water can create a bittersweet or astringent taste. The presence of iron in supplied water is undesirable due to the staining effect on laundry and porcelain. Manganese, in high concentrations, can produce corrosion and scaling in pipes, which is a serious industrial concern. The solution is the Hanna HI96742, a hand-held photometer to measure low range iron and manganese. HI96742 are supplied with 2 sample cuvettes with caps, 9V battery and instruction manual. 0 To 1.60 milligrams per liter (ppm) iron LR and 0 to 300micro g/L (ppm) manganese LR range. 0.01 milligrams per liter iron LR and 1micro g/L manganese LR resolution. +/-0.01 milligrams per liter +/-8 percent of reading iron LR and +/-2micro g/L +/-3 percent of reading manganese LR at 25 degree C accuracy. Tungsten lamp. Silicon photocell with narrow band interference filter at 525nm light detector. Auto-off: after ten minutes of non-use in measurement mode, after one hour of non-use in calibration mode with last reading reminder. Adaptation of TPTZ method for iron LR and adaptation of the 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol PAN method for manganese LR.
