The Mitutoyo 152 series micrometer head has a large-diameter thimble for fine positioning and ease of reading and an anti-rotation device on the spindle for use as an XY-stage feed. The vernier scale has bidirectional graduations in inch units for taking precise measurements to 0.0001”, and a white anodized aluminum rust- and glare-resistant finish. Adjustable zero-setting through a floating thimble mechanism helps provide accuracy. The micrometer head has a plain stem for mounting in a fixture with a split-body clamp or setscrew. The flat, hardened steel measuring face helps provide durability and is lapped to help provide accuracy.
