The Hanna Instruments Primo 2 is a total dissolved solids (TDS) and temperature tester for water quality applications, with automatic temperature compensation, automatic calibration, and automatic shutoff after five minutes of non-use. The meter is operated by two buttons at the top: one for TDS and one for temperature. It has a direct probe connection. Conductivity meters are commonly used in the water-quality testing, waste-water treatment, hydroponics, agriculture, and aquaculture industries, in cosmetics manufacturing, and in laboratory research.

Conductivity meters, also known as electrical conductivity (EC) meters, measure the ability of a solution or material to conduct an electrical current.
