The Hanna Instruments HI 122-01 is a benchtop pH, oxygen reduction potential (ORP)/mV, and temperature meter with built-in printer with manual temperature compensation, Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), five-point pH calibration, a multilevel LCD screen, a built-in printer, and automatic logging. A pH meter is commonly used to measure the pH of substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial and food applications. An ORP meter, also known as a redox potential tester, is used to measure the oxidization or reduction capacity of a solution, and to monitor chemical reactions and ion activity. It is commonly used for water testing, pulp bleaching, and for biological sample analysis in swimming pools, cooling towers, waste water treatment, and industrial applications. The multilevel LCD screen simultaneously displays the current measurement and the current temperature. Graphics display electrode condition and electrode response. A hold function freezes readings for recording. Log-on-demand stores up to 50 samples and auto-logging stores up to 1000 samples for each input channel. The meter has an opto-isolated RS-232 serial port for data transfer.

ATC is provided by the HI 7662-T temperature probe (included). The meter has up to five-point calibration with seven memorized buffers (1.68, 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18, 10.01, and 12.45 pH) and two custom buffers. A calibration check feature provides status of electrode condition and response time and status of the buffer solutions during calibration. The meter comes with the HI 1131P glass body, ceramic single-junction pH electrode with a spheric tip, a Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector + pin connector, and a 1m (3.3') coaxial cable. The meter measures ORP/mV when using a compatible ORP electrode (not included). The operating temperature is 0 to 50 degrees C (32 to 122 degrees F) with a relative humidity of 95 percent. The input impedance is 10 E 12 Ohm. The meter power supply is 115V and it comes with a 12VDC adapter and weighs 500g/1.1lb.The HI 122-01 also comes with buffer solutions, electrolyte solution, paper rolls, and instructions.

A pH meter, also called a sensor or tester, is a device used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. A pH meter has either a portable or a benchtop body. Many portable meters are handheld devices. Some testers have an internal sensor, and may have a tip and body that fit inside of a container for measurement. A meter is commonly used in many different environments from laboratories to field research and manufacturing facilities. Researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists use a pH meter in aquaculture, agricultural, wine-making, and water-testing, and for scientific applications. Some pH meters may measure additional parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), conductivity (also called electro-conductivity or EC), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, resistivity, or oxygen reduction potential (ORP)/mV.

Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
