Kyoritsu 2413R True RMS Digital Clamp-Meter, 0.1mA to 1,000A AC Leakage and Load Current, Conductors to 68mm

The Kyoritsu 2413R digital clamp-meter is a true RMS sensing, manual-ranging meter for measuring a wide range of current, from leakage to load, in electrical testing applications. It has a clamp that measures AC (alternating current) from 0.1mA (milliamperes) to 1,000A. The clamp has two jaws that can close around an electrical conductor up to 68mm (2.68 inches) in diameter to measure current without touching or interrupting the circuit. The jaw diameter allows measurements of three- and four-wire systems for testing leakage current. The meter has a rotary switch to select the measurement range and has a 1,999-count LCD with a backlight for visibility in low light that turns off automatically after 10 seconds. The peak hold function, with a selectable sampling time of 10ms (milliseconds) or 100ms, captures the highest reading of inrush current at the startup of motors and other inductive loads. It features a frequency selector switch for engaging a low-pass filter that reduces high-frequency interference to allow accurate measurements of complex wave shapes. To capture readings in tight spaces and aid documentation of readings, the data hold function keeps the most recent reading on the display after disconnecting from the circuit. The meter's analog output terminal is compatible with the Kyoritsu 7073 output cord (sold separately) to provide AC and DC voltage output that can be monitored with a digital multimeter, oscilloscope, or recorder (all sold separately). The unit operates on a single 9V 6F22 battery and has a low-battery indicator that signals when the battery needs to be replaced.

This true RMS (root mean square) sensing meter provides accurate readings when measuring linear or non-linear loads, regardless of the waveform. The meter is manual-ranging, so the user selects the operating range for the current being measured. Accuracy and resolution specifications vary according to the range being measured. The meter meets IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) safety standards 61010-1 and 61010-2-032, and is rated for CAT (category) III installations to 300V, which covers equipment in fixed installations, such as switches in the fixed installation and some industrial equipment that is permanently connected to the fixed installation.
