Brown & Sharpe 599-749-1 V Block with Clamp

The Brown & Sharpe 599-749-1 includes two mild steel blocks and one clamp, and is suitable for large, heavy work. Mild steel provides strength and durability, and the blocks feature squareness for increased usability, accuracy, and measurement consistency. Blocks feature two clamping grooves and lower grooves that allow blocks to be clamped to work surface. Sides are square with each other within .003”, ends are square with sides within .003”, v-groove is parallel and central with sides within .002”, and v’s of pairs are central and parallel to each other within .004”. V-groove is 90 degrees + or - ½ degrees. Dimensions are 2-1/2” (64 mm) square x 3” (76 mm) long. Work capacity is approximately 1/2” to 2-1/2” (13 to 64 mm) diameter.

V-blocks are small part work holders. They are held in place with the assistance of a clamp. The grove allows a channel for the clamp to hold down the part being measured or modified.
