An outside micrometer, setting ring or slip gauges can be used to calibrate the bore gauge - The bore gauge has a knurled lock nut to secure the anvils and spacers. There is a sprung loaded guide used to centralize the two measuring contact points to the bore. At the opposite end of the gauge there is a heat insulating handle with a split collet and knurled locking ring to secure the dial indicator.
