BYK-Gardner 7901 Brookfield Viscometer, Model LVDV-E, 220V, 15 to 2,000,000 Centipoise Viscosity Range
The BYK-Gardner 7901 Brookfield-type rotational viscometer has a 15 to 2,000,000 centipoise (cP) viscosity measuring range and measures the dynamic viscosity of a fluid based on the force required to stir the fluid. Its auto-ranging LED display shows viscosity in centipoise (cP) and millipascal seconds (mPa s), percentage torque, spindle used, and rpm, and a rotary switch allows selection of 18 speeds. It accepts 220V input power. The viscometer is accurate to 1 percent and results are repeatable to 0.2 percent. The model LVDV-E viscometer includes a set of four spindles, lab stand, carrying case, and operating instructions. This Brookfield-type rotational viscometer is suitable for testing a variety of fluids, such as oils, gases, polymers, cosmetics, detergents, and foods for use in a variety of industries.

A capillary viscometer has a narrow-bore vertical section with two printed marks that measure time required for a known volume of fluid to fall a known distance. A funnel viscometer, such as a Ford, Zahn, or Shell cup, measures the time it takes a known volume of fluid to flow from the base of a cone through a short tube. A bubble viscometer measures the time required for an air bubble to rise through a fluid. Viscosity measurements are used in laboratories, research and development, process control, and plant quality control applications.
