Mitutoyo 329-350-10CAL Digital Depth Micrometer with Calibration, Interchangeable Rod Type, Inch/Metric, 4 x 0.63" Base, 0-6" (0-152.4mm) Range, 0.00005" (0.001mm) Resolution
The calibrated Mitutoyo 329-350-10CAL digital depth micrometer is for measuring the depths of holes and other depressions. The micrometer has a measurement range of 0 to 6.0" (0 to 152.4mm) and a resolution of 0.00005" (0.001mm). The LCD screen displays in inches and metric units. This item has a ratchet stop to help provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurements. The measuring rods can be locked for stability. This model comes with six flat-tipped, 4mm diameter, interchangeable extension rods for measuring in different ranges (0 to 1", 0 to 2", 0 to 3", 0 to 4", 0 to 5", and 0 to 6"). Mitutoyo calibrated tools include a Certificate of Calibration that provides evidence that the tool has been calibrated and is within allowable error specifications. Mitutoyo calibrated tools are certified by Mitutoyo's American Association for Laboratory Accreditation-accredited calibration laboratory (A2LA Certificate #750-01) to the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025 International Standard for testing and calibration laboratories. Additional functions offered by this micrometer include origin setting, zero setting, data hold, function lock, and alarms for low voltage and counting value composition errors. The base is 4 x 0.63 inches (W x D) for stability. This micrometer offers serial data output (using optional SPC cables, sold separately), which increases speed and reliability of digital measurement records. It has a battery life of approximately 1.2 years of normal use. This unit comes with a SR-44 battery and fitted, plastic case.
W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL. What's in the Box?
