The GW Instek GDS-2000A series digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) has Waveform Search and Segmented Memory for electronics applications such as product design and debugging, repair and servicing, and electrical engineering education. It has a vertical sensitivity to 10mV per division for the full bandwidth and 1mV per division when the gain control is engaged for capturing low-level signals. The series has bandwidth range from 70 to 300MHz and two to four channels with a single-channel sample rate range of up to 2GS/s. Events captured and saved into Segmented Memory can be divided into 2,048 sections for observation, increasing memory usage efficiency. Waveform Search mode marks waveform sections that comply with a user-defined search condition and threshold level. Triggers include Edge, Pulse Width, Video, Runt, Slope, Alternate, Event-Delay, and Time-Delay. The oscilloscope has an 8" color TFT-LCD (800 x 600 pixels) with an internal 8 x 10 division grid for viewing waveforms. This digital storage oscilloscope is European Conformity (CE) approved and CAT I 300V safety rated.

Oscilloscopes are electrical testing devices used to verify the functionality of an electrical signal generator. Oscilloscopes measure an electrical signal over time, and display the waveform signals in a visual graph. The waveform shows the sweeps (or refresh) of voltage on a vertical (Y) axis, and can display time on a horizontal (X) axis. Details of a waveshape demonstrate the signal over time. Oscilloscopes can display in a digital or analog view. An analog oscilloscope has continuous waveform display, typically in a luminous phosphor. Some oscilloscopes can display more than one channel and type of measurement simultaneously. Some oscilloscopes can capture waveform signals to memory, and recall them. Oscilloscopes may provide real-time intensity grading. Some oscilloscopes have the ability to adjust frequency of display. A constant image will display if a signal is shown at a high frequency. Oscilloscopes can be powered with batteries or electricity, or may have a built-in generator. They may have Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or European Conformity (CE) certification, or a specific category (CAT) safety rating, such as CAT5e. Oscilloscopes are commonly used for testing, measuring, and inspecting in science, engineering, telecommunications, automotive, and industry applications.

GW Instek manufactures test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal testers, and video surveillance systems. The company, founded in 1975 and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9002 and 14001.
