The Labomed Spectro 23 single-beam spectrophotometer has a multi-cell receptacle to measure transmission, absorption, concentration and factor for routine spectro-analysis in a range of applications and industries, including chemical, biochemical, agriculture, environmental protection, and education. The instrument has a 320 to 1,100nm wavelength range for use in the visible, near-ultraviolet, and near-infrared spectral range. It has a 0 to 100%T transmittance range, 0 to 1.999A absorption range, and 0 to 2,000C concentration range. The 6nm bandwidth provides more consistent results for low-concentration samples than does 1nm. It has a tungsten-halogen lamp, a silicon photodiode detector for reduced noise, and a monochromator with a 1,200 lines/mm grating mirror. A built-in stray-light filter increases accuracy. The instrument automatically calculates absorption, transmittance, factor, and concentration, and auto-zero and auto-calibration ensure consistent results. The spectrophotometer has a receptacle that accepts round test tubes and up to four 10 x 10mm square cuvettes. Capacitive-touch buttons ease cleaning and prevent liquids from entering the device. The instrument has a switch that allows the customer to choose between 110VAC/60Hz and 240VAC/50 power sources.

A spectrophotometer is a device used to measure and analyze aspects of light absorption in liquids and solids. Readings are displayed in digital or analog format. A spectrophotometer can have a handheld body for field use, or a bench-top body for laboratory applications. It may have one or more adapters to enable it to measure surfaces or liquids. A spectrophotometer is used for testing and measuring in anatomy, chemistry, agriculture, process plant, food and beverage making, homeland security, and educational applications.

Labomed manufactures spectrophotometers, microscopes, diagnostic instruments, and accessories for scientific and medical laboratories. The company, founded in 1980, is headquartered in Culver City, CA and meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9001:2013.
