The Mitutoyo 543-576 Absolute Digimatic electronic indicator gauge, ID-N body, is for measuring short, linear distances in harsh workshop conditions. It has a measurement range of 0 to 0.5" (0 to 12.7mm), a selectable resolution of either 0.00005" (0.001mm) or 0.0005" (0.01mm), and an accuracy of + or - 0.00012" (0.003mm). The LCD displays in both inches and metric units, and can be rotated 180 degrees for taking measurements from different directions. The body is 35mm wide and can be used in locations where space is restricted. An Absolute electrostatic capacitance linear encoder helps prevent overspeed errors for taking accurate measurements. This model is Ingress Protection certified IP66 for protection against dust and water jets.

This unit has a 3/8" diameter stem and a #4-48 UNF contact point thread mount. Additional functions include zero set, preset, direction switching, tolerance judgment, hold, and alerts for low voltage, counting value composition error, overflow error, and tolerance limit setting error. This indicator gauge has a measuring force is 2.5 Newtons (N) or less. It has a battery life of approximately 7,000 hours of normal use. This unit comes with an SR-44 battery. This gauge offers serial data output (using optional SPC cables, sold separately), which increases speed and reliability of digital measurement records.
