Extech MA410T 400-Amp AC TRMS Clamp Meter Plus NCV

The Extech MA410T is a 400 amp True RMS AC clamp meter capable of safely and efficiently measuring current without test leads. True RMS provides truer AC readings when measuring distorted waveforms. The integrated NCV detector enables users to quickly check for the presence of live wires before testing.

Digital multimeter functions on the MA410T include: AC/DC voltage (600 volts); resistance (40 MΩ); capacitance (100 µF); frequency (10 kHz); temperature (-4 to 1400 degrees F/-20 to 760 degrees C); duty cycle; diode; and continuity. The MA410T also provides a 1.2-inch (30mm) jaw opening size for conductors up to 350 MCM; 4000 count backlit display; and data hold; relative mode; and auto power off functions.

Comes with test leads, general purpose Type K bead wire temperature probe, two AAA batteries, carrying case, and user manual.

A clamp meter is a safe, convenient, and efficient way to measure current without having to use test leads. A clamp meter measures AC or DC current by clamping around a single conductor and displaying the results digitally. The area of the meter that clamps onto the conductor is known as the "jaw" and is opened by the user with a press of a button. Since current flow through a conductor causes a magnetic field, the clamp meter can sense this field and provide a corresponding current reading (in amperes or amps). Clamp meters do not interrupt current flow, which enables used to take electrical measurement quickly and safely.

Clamp meters often have digital multimeter functions built in such as voltage and resistance. Dials or switches on the meter allow the user to select the range and other modes of operation. Display icons convey the unit of measure, range, resolution and other useful information. If a cable run includes more than one conductor, it must be modified to allow access to only one conductor at a time.
