The Mitutoyo grade 00 rectangular gage block is made of ceramic, has its nominal length engraved in inches, is supplied with a Mitutoyo inspection certificate that states that the block meets American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B89.1.9-2002 grade standard for flatness, length, parallelism, and surface finish. The inspection certificate specifies the deviation of the individual block from its nominal length. Gage blocks are commonly used to calibrate fixtures and precision instruments in workshop, inspection, and dimensional metrology applications, to inspect tools such as mounting tools, cutters, fixtures, and mechanical parts, and in the gage manufacturing process itself. This grade 00 gage block is commonly used within a controlled environment as a reference standard for setting high-precision measuring equipment, to calibrate low-grade gage blocks, and to inspect the accuracy of gages, mechanical parts, and tools. It is made of ceramic, which resists corrosion, abrasion, and burrs, withstands high temperatures without melting (high thermal expansion resistance), and provides dimensional stability. This gage block has a rectangular base for accurate wringing. Nominal length is measured in inches, and is indicated with laser-etched, black characters. The length of a gage block is usually slightly shorter than its stamped nominal length, to account for the thin layer of oil or wring film used when two or more blocks are wrung together. An identification number is laser-etched on the block for traceability. The block has a depth of 0.355 inches. It comes in a carrying case with a padded, formed interior. This gage block is supplied with a Mitutoyo inspection certificate [National Institute of Standards in Engineering (NIST)-traceable] that the block meets ASME B89.1.9-2002 standard for flatness, length, parallelism, and surface finish. Gage blocks (also called gauge blocks, Hoke blocks, Jo blocks, slip gages, and Johansson gages) are blocks used to calibrate measuring equipment and to standardize the m...

The Mitutoyo grade 0 square gage block is made of steel, has its nominal length engraved in metric [millimeter (mm)] units, and is supplied with a Mitutoyo inspection certificate that states that the block meets American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B89.1.9-2002 grade standard for flatness, length, parallelism, and surface finish. This grade 0 gage block is commonly used in workshop and inspection applications to calibrate and inspect mechanical parts and tools, to verify the accuracy of plug and snap gages, and to set electronic measuring devices. It is made of high-carbon, high-chrome steel which has a high hardness for minimum deterioration, and is selected for its wear resistance. This gage block has a square base for accurate wringing, to attain a height reference standard, and for the ability to make a dedicated inspection jig. Nominal length is measured in metric [millimeter (mm)] units, and is indicated with laser-etched, black characters. The length of a gage block is usually slightly shorter than its stamped nominal length, to account for the thin layer of oil or wring film used when two or more blocks are wrung together. An identification number is laser-etched on the block for traceability. The block has a depth of 24.1 millimeters. All Mitutoyo gage blocks meet or exceed all known specifications. The flatness and parallelism surface finish necessary to achieve the required accuracies are the same as or better than government requirements. A certificate of inspection is furnished with all Mitutoyo gage blocks with a serial number on the case and an identification number on each block. The deviation of each block is registered. For this inspection, each gage block is measured relative to the upper level master using a gage block comparator. Grade K gage blocks are manufactured by absolute measurement using an interferometer. The gage block set and discrete gage block are supplied with a certificate of calibration. The certificate of calibration specifies the deviation from the nominal length. (Comparative measurement, however, is performed for all square gage blocks.). A certificate of accuracy, traceable to the NIST, is furnished with each Mitutoyo gage block set and individual block.

The Mitutoyo 516-934-26 gage block set includes nine ASME grade 0 steel rectangular gage blocks with nominal size engraved in inches. Blocks included in the set measure .0625", .100", .125", .200", .250", .300", .500", 1", and 2". Grade 0 gage blocks are often used for calibrating and inspecting tools, instruments, and manufacturing gages. This rectangular gage block set meets ASME B89.1.9 standards and a certificate of inspection and calibration is provided with each set. Gage blocks (also called gauge blocks, Jo blocks, Hoke blocks, and Johansson gauges) are precision ground and lapped metal or ceramic blocks, used for calibrating precision measuring equipment and as a length standard in manufacturing. Gage blocks are square or rectangular in shape, with flat and parallel measuring surfaces, and usually have an engraved unique serial number and nominal length (provided in either inches or millimeters). They often come in sets with blocks of varying lengths, so that many different standard lengths can be created by stacking and wringing them. Wringing is the process of sliding blocks together with a small amount of pressure, in order to create a longer gage block stack. Gage blocks are kept within a protective case, are cleaned thoroughly before wringing and after each use to prevent corrosion, and are kept free of burrs and other damage that would decrease their accuracy. Temperature is another important consideration. Blocks are susceptible to thermal expansion and must be used at 68 degrees F to ensure their accuracy. Gage blocks are available in different grades, which refer to their tolerance or allowable deviation from their nominal dimension. Grades are defined by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B89.1.9M for both length and flatness. ASME B89.1.9M also defines standards for parallelism and surface finish. Different grades are available depending on the application and the required level of accuracy. Grade 00 blocks are generally used to calibrate and check the accuracy of instrum...

OverviewRPM designers went all out to create the most innovative and useful tool to check your vehicle’s ride height! (A vehicle’s ride height is the static height of the vehicle as it rests on its suspension. It varies from front to rear and from one side to the other depending upon weight and spring tension.) The gauge has a graduated scale along the upper edge of the base with easy to read lines and numbers. Each graduation on the inch scale (81300) represents 0.025" and on the metric scale (81150), 0.5mm. (for extreme accuracy, the graduations are far enough apart that they may be split to read as little as 0.012" [81300] or 0.25mm. [81150])! Included with the gauge is a spring-loaded tensioning knob to keep the gauge positioned while checking & setting positions on the gauge. The RPM 81300 Ride Height Gauge (inch scale) has a range from 0.150" to 1.150" (5/32" to 1-5/32") and the 81150 Ride Height Gauge (metric scale) has a range from 4mm. to 29.5mm.! RPM’s ingenious design uses a base and a slide that travels along a twenty degree angle. By using such a slight angle, the accuracy of the gauge increases dramatically while still allowing a broad height range. Either gauge may be used to check most on-road or off-road vehicle’s ride height, including pan cars & sedans! It’s extremely easy to use and is the most accurate tool available on the R/C market!
