AEMC 3711 Clamp-On Ground Resistance Tester, 1200 Ohms Resistance, 30A Current
The AEMC 3711 portable clamp-on ground resistance tester measures electrical ground rod and grid resistance of installed multi-grounded systems around buildings, pads, cell towers, pools and spas, and most environments, with no leads, auxiliary rods, or spacing requirements. The meter measures down to 0.1Ω with resolution of 0.01Ω and a fast settling time of approximately one second. It provides high immunity to electrical noise around transmission towers and substations. The current measurement function provides a direct reading of leakage current flowing to ground or circulating in ground loops down to 1 milliAmp (mA) and neutral and phase currents to 30A RMS. The data hold function keeps the last reading on the display after disconnecting from the circuit under test, which allows user to record measurements in the field and analyze readings when convenient. For power management and extending battery life, the auto power-off feature shuts down the meter after a set period of time. Ground-resistance meters are used by electricians and contractors working in industrial, utility, and field servicing. The jaw design has a 1.25" opening that accommodates ground rods and larger ground conductor cables up to 1000kcmil. The ergonomic body design permits one-handed operation. The head and body of the instrument are constructed from polycarbonate material that is designed to withstand heavy outdoor usage. The tester comes with a calibration check loop and hard carrying case. Safety ratings include EN 61010 and CAT III. The double-insulated product is UL approved and CE marked. Specifications
H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Ground-resistance meters test the condition of a grounding system, and provide resistivity measurements in ohms. The meters are available in digital, analog, and clamp models. Grounding systems protect people and equipment, and provide a safe path for the dissipation of fault currents, lightning strikes, static discharges, EMI and RFI signals, and interference. Regular testing of a grounding system is important for safety and protection of equipment. For example, corrosive soil with high moisture content can degrade ground rods and connections in existing systems and increase the resistance of the system. Ground-resistance meters are used in conjunction with a variety of testing methods to troubleshoot intermittent electrical problems or as part of a regular maintenance plan. AEMC Instruments manufactures electrical testing and measurement instruments, including clamp meters, power quality analyzers, ground resistance testers, and data loggers. The company, founded in 1893, is headquartered in Foxborough, MA. What’s in the Box?
