Amprobe AMB-55 Industrial High-Voltage Insulation Tester
The Amprobe AMB-55 industrial high-voltage insulation resistance tester is a digital meter that measures insulation resistance, current, capacitance, and voltage to help reduce shock hazards and downtime on electrical systems that include wires, cables, transformers, surge arresters, generators, and electrical motors. The tester has automatic range selection for increased safety. The unit measures 0 to 600V alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC), current from 0 to 5.5mA, capacitance from 0 to 50 microfarads, and insulation resistance from 0 to 10 teraohms using DC test voltages from 250 to 5,000V in 25V increments. The internal memory holds up to 1,000 test results for later download to a PC using USB or RS232 data interfaces. The tester is safety rated to European Standard (EN) 61010-1, Category IV, 600V. The unit has a programmable timer to perform Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Polarization Index (PI), dielectric discharge (DD), and step voltage tests. The tester is powered by six C batteries (included). The AMB-55 is designed for use by electricians and electrical contractors. Specifications
H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Electrical test meters report electrical circuit properties, such as voltage, resistance, capacitance, and continuity. Available in handheld or benchtop form, they detect electrical problems in equipment, wiring, and power supplies. A variety of probes, clamps, and leads can be used to connect the meter to a circuit or device. Single-function meters, such as battery testers and voltage testers, measure one property of a circuit, and multimeters measure multiple properties. Electrical test meters display information either in analog form using a needle that moves on a calibrated scale, or in digital form using digits or a graphic representation on an LED screen. Meters have electrical properties that are to be measured and the anticipated range of results, and should have a rating that is higher than the maximum value of the anticipated range. An electrical test meter has multiple settings corresponding to potential ranges of values for the properties it can measure. A manual ranging meter requires the operator to flip through different settings until the correct range is reached. An autoranging meter cycles through range settings automatically until it reaches the correct range. Amprobe manufactures electrical testing equipment for commercial, industrial, and home use. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Everett, WA. What’s in the Box?
