The calibrated Mitutoyo 513-402TCAL test indicator set is for measuring small surface variations in narrow or recessed areas. The test indicator has a measurement range of 0 to 0.03", graduations of 0.0005", and an accuracy of + or – 0.0005". This model has a white dial face with contrasting hand, and glare-free, scratch-resistant crystal. It is tilted 20 degrees for readability and displays in inches. This test indicator has an anti-magnetic pointer and contact point for reliable measurements in magnetized environments. The contact point is carbide for durability. This test indicator has no clutch to enable automatic reversal of measuring direction, and jeweled bearings for sensitivity and quick response. The one-piece bezel and O-ring seal help resist water and oil. Mitutoyo calibrated tools include a Certificate of Calibration that provides evidence that the tool has been calibrated and is within allowable error specifications. Mitutoyo calibrated tools are certified by Mitutoyo's American Association for Laboratory Accreditation-accredited calibration laboratory (A2LA Certificate #750-01) to the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025 International Standard for testing and calibration laboratories. The measuring force for this test indicator is 5 to 10 Newtons (N). The balanced dial has a reading of 0-15-0. This full kit contains the base indicator and stylus, two extra styluses, two stems, a knurled clamp ring, a swivel clamp, and an inch holding bar. The set comes in a fitted plastic case.SpecificationsRange0 to 0.03"Graduations0.0005"Accuracy+ or - 0.0005"Measuring force0.3N or lessDial readingBalanced, 0-15-0FaceDial, glare- and scratch-resistant crystal, 20-degree tiltStemAnti-magnetic, carbide tippedBodyNo clutch (auto-reverse), jeweled bearings, one-piece bezel and O-ring sealDimensions56.5mm body length (without stylus); 40mm dial diameterWeight0.55lb.Test indicator gauges, also called gages, are precision instruments that measure ...

The Mitutoyo 513 series dial test indicator has a tilted face, an 8mm stem diameter, and metric measurements. The indicator has a reversible measuring direction and an adjustable contact point, and is used to measure surface variations in narrow or recessed areas. The face inclines 20 degrees from the axis of the indicator and three dovetail mounts, and can be mounted either horizontally or vertically from the front, top, or back of the indicator. It has a unified outer frame that prevents oil and water from permeating the front face, a hard frame body that provides rigidity and durability, and a clear, flat, and scratch-resistant crystal face. This dial indicator meets Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) B7533-1990. The basic set includes a dial indicator, a 2mm carbide contact point, an 8mm diameter stem, a knurled clamp ring, and a plastic storage box.Dial readings with three digits, such as 0-10-0, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, such as 0-100, indicate that the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used to read the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials. Optional features include jeweled bearings for high sensitivity and accuracy, a revolution counter to measure overall change, and a yellow face that meets ANSI standards for metric indicators.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, dial calipers, and probe indicators. These precision measuring tools are used to accurately measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can more easily be read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking the variation in tolerance of a workpiece. Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicato...

Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicator. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measurement is perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and dial test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation.Brown & Sharpe manufactures precision measuring equipment and metrology hand tools.
