The Starrett stainless steel dual post dial height gauge has up/down counters that can be reset, a hand-operated feed wheel, a carbide-tipped scriber, and a glare-free rust-resistant, satin chrome finish. The dial gauge has distinct, easily read figures for precise measurement in gradations of 0.001". A lock holds the slide in position. Two separate digital counters register upward and downward travel. Zero setting capability resets to zero at any point for easy reading without special calculations. The gauge is lowered and raised smoothly and evenly on the dual beams by a hand-operated feed wheel with coarse and fine adjustment. The included scriber, used to mark position on the workpiece, is carbide-tipped for hardness and long life. The satin chrome finish on the scales resists rust and is glare-free. The base is ergonomically shaped for ease of handling and is hardened, ground, and lapped for maximum flatness.Height gauges, sometimes referred to as gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The vertical position of the gauge and its attached pointer are changed by turning a calibrated screw, or one or more feed wheels. Recorded rotations are read from a scale, a dial, counters, and/or an electronic display. A screw clamp holds the pointer to the gauge. The pointer is typically sharpened to act as a scriber, and can be used to mark a position on a workpiece by scratching its surface. On compatible units, the scriber may be replaced by an electronic touch-signal probe. Height gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. The L.S. Starrett Company manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology and testing equipment, and saw blade products. The company, founded in 1880, is headquartered in Athol, MA.

The Mitutoyo 192-130 dial height gauge has a measurement range of 0 to 300 mm, and is precise to 0.01 mm, with + or - 0.03 mm of accuracy. The dial gauge has distinct, easily-read figures for precise measurement to 0.01 mm, and dual, resettable counters additionally measure discrete up and down distance changes, in 0.1 mm increments. A large, hand-operated feed wheel raises and lowers the gauge on the parallel beams with smooth, even travel. The included scriber, used to mark a position on a workpiece, is 80 mm (l) x 32 mm (h), carbide-tipped for hardness and long life, and is held to the gauge by a screw clamp for easy and secure fastening. The grip-base design provides comfort when holding the unit in position by hand. The dial and counters display large, easily-viewed figures. The mass (weight) of the height gauge is 4.2 kg. Height gauges, sometimes referred to as gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The Mitutoyo 192-663-10 LCD Digimatic height gauge displays in metric units within a range of 0 - 300 mm, has an LCD digital readout with selectable resolution of 0.01mm or 0.005mm, with + or - 0.02 mm of accuracy, and data output to transmit results to a Mitutoyo miniprocessor or computer for statistical process control (SPC). This height gauge has an electronic microprocessor providing the ability to preset up to two reference heights at any position, hold data at any position, compensate for probe diameter, as well as set a temporary zero position and return to a true zero reading. The output port transmits results to a Mitutoyo miniprocessor or computer through an interface cable (not included) for statistical process control (SPC). The gauge has a plug to receive input from an electronic touch probe (not included) for efficient digital measurement. The scriber, used to mark a position on a workpiece, is 42 mm x 150 mm (H x L), carbide-tipped for hardness and to help prolong life, and is held to the gauge by a screw clamp for fastening ease. A dual-column beam provides stability that helps promote accurate measurements. A hand-operated feed wheel raises and lowers the gauge on the beam for ease of measurement, and is selectable for coarse or fine travel. The grip-base helps hold the unit in position by hand. The height gauge weighs 12.56 lbs/5.7 kg. The unit comes with an SR44 battery. One tool does the layout and measuring work of several others. Multi-Function Height/Depth Gauge is primarily used to set table saw blade height from tabletop, fence-to-sawblade distance and miter-slot-to-blade alignment as well as establish router bit and drill press depths and drill bit stop locations, set radial arm saw dado depth and blade height from tabletop, but it also performs a number of other important jobs: Use gauge to mark or scribe a line - mark straight lines up to 5" from board edges and set up your band saw and shaper table, too. Depth rod measures up to 5" for dadoes, slots, dowel and screw holes and in tight spots. 6-1/8"H x 1-1/2"TH x 4-3/8"W - engineered reinforced polymer and steel/brass construction. Photo engraved, tempered stainless steel 5" scale is marked in precise 1/32" increments. All measurements are read on just one scale - reverse scale for millimeters up to 12.5cm. Magnetic base ensures secure grip on ferrous metal surfaces. Includes hex wrench and complete calibration and use instructions. Imported. U.S. Patent No. UM-77013 and 5,491,907.
