The Oakton 35662-52 Salt Testr is a handheld, waterproof and dustproof pocket meter that measures salinity, floats, if dropped in liquid, is factory-calibrated against sodium chloride (NaCl) standard solution for reliability, and has + or - 1% full scale accuracy. A portable pocket meter is commonly used to measure the salinity of substance, particularly NaCl-based samples, in aquaculture, aquariums, fish farms, food processing, swimming pools, and in environmental and waste water treatment. This microprocessor meter features one-point, push-button calibration located in the battery compartment to avoid accidental recalibration, and has Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) for accurate readings in fluctuating temperatures. It has a replaceable sensor to extend the life of the tester. The meter’s waterproof and dustproof housing is Valox resin, and has Ingress Protection (IP) 67-rating for protection against solid objects or liquids. Its stainless steel sensor tip is both durable and chemical resistant. It has a dip-style sensor for immersion. The meter displays full readings to obtain actual test values and to eliminate the need to multiply the readout.
