Why is pH (Power of Hydrogen) important? pH levels specify acidity or alkalinity with a water base solution. Measurements of pH are important in chemistry, agriculture, medicine, biology, nutrition, water treatment and purification, engineering and many more.
What are most common uses of Universal pH strips? There are many, but most common would have to be:
a) Testing of neutrality of water- This trend has picked up in popularity as more consumers are becoming aware about the importance of hydration, and although they may be consuming more water, not all water is the same. If you do a little bit of research you can find many videos of consumers testing acidity of waters, and realizing that most bottle water is actually acidic.
b) Testing of drinks we consume and seeing how far from the neutral level of 7 they are. This is more of a fun exercise, health conscious parents and educators use to show their kids how acidic soft drinks really are.
c) Testing of water for pools and aquariums - The correct pH is required in order for other balancing chemicals like chlorine are working effectively.
Why do you offer in 100 and 200 strip option? Once you become conscious of pH. you will want to test many substances, and share the knowledge with people you know.
What is the difference between Urine/Saliva strips and Universal? Urine/Saliva strips are specially formulated to test pH for these solutions. Universal is formulated for general use.
Why do I need to average? In science and in nature, there are many factors that may affect the pH of a substance. You want to test and cross check your readings. A 100 strips give you the freedom to do this without worry of running out for a while.
